To an archival reader this will be meaningless zooming. To a normal reader this is just dickish.

Making it happen.

Could have at least made the zooming sequence into a gif or two.
e: it will turn out nobody is even in John's house and we spend another several panels zooming back out till we find somebody.

It's not like random zooming is anything new.

Well yeah. I was mostly making fun of Hussie's constant insistence that he is a master of pace and nobody could possibly insinuate that Homestuck is even slightly bloated.

Random zooming is nothing new. Random zooming following a flash to break weeks of hiatus is rightly annoying, though.

People aren't entertained by CSI: LoWaS?
This is intense. I've been on the literal edge of my seat for two actual days. I have not gone to the bathroom in all that time, such is my apprehension. This is not comfortable

This really is filler now. And with more zooming.
Bonus:

Now, I don't know anything about pacing, but I can see how this is supposed to work: The lengthy almost repetitive zooming and panning lets us know how many times these people have watched Con Air in the last year. We're bored because nothing much have happened in a bunch of weeks; imagine how much has happened with this gang in the last year.
I like how John is still completely immersed in the movie. And has clearly used his natural leader skills to get everyone in the world to watch it with him, with at least some apparent interest.

You'd think he'd be spending his time doing the windy thing to fly around the strange landscapes or somethin'.
Wait, no, it's John, so you really wouldn't think that. |

I do not understand this bonus.
