It won't just be a matter of taking them off, either. Anything that adds new items is going to causes crashes if you have said things in your inventory

While that was a bigger issue before, I think updates are likely to be fewer and less often now that the game is in Alpha. Most of the bugs have already been worked out. The only things we have to look forward to for multiplayer now are the Nether and completely original new content.

It is still something we should avoid until the game itself is in full release, or at least has a system in place to support Mods.

I don't mind if we get a new map or any mods...

As long as we don't have offensive mobs everywhere. Lag makes it impossible to fight a zombie, but creepers? I don't even see them.

Is it permanent. by the way? I haven't played Minecraft in a good while, let alone on NessCraft.
If it's permanent, I'd advocate starting with a completely new map. (if my opinion counts for anything, considering my MC hiatus might last a while longer yet.)

Its not permanent. its just minor. and its personal. Occasionally rendering takes a certain aspect of something and repeats it to give depth beyond rendering. This works when it grabs a hill..but fails miserably when it grabs Santa Creeper

Someone did fire everywhere. AkaSM's island, and a bunch near the spawn. I tried cleaning up a bit, but there is just too much. Short of some kind of switch that puts out every fire on the server, it'll take 5 people a week to put that shit out.

This is why we can't have nice things.
