I think Krylo has the right of it. If I feel overwhelmed by horror and despair just reading about this--me, a spoiled and sheltered honky from Washington State--then how much more sickening must it be for people whose lives are at risk if Officer Fucker gets a wild hair up his ass about "urban feral thugs" or whatever the fuck? I find it really hard to blame people who clearly have no socially acceptable means of redress for their grievances resorting to unacceptable means--or just feeling too hunted to be polite.

I've lost count on how many interviews with police officers who support duty-cameras, hell I've talked with some in person that are in favor of it. The only ones that are against it are the ones that have shit to hide. Those are the ones that should be flagged for suspicious behaviour/activity.

I will never be able to full empathize with you Token becuse I don't suffer under the same issues as you, and I honestly hardly even find myself able to stand against the comparably minor hardships of any background I have. I'm privilaged in that respect, and I'm sad to see you go simply because you aren't and in any discussion like this we need that simply so that people like me are able to see it clearer. Because I can't take it seriously when Kim or Snake say it. Because they aren't you.

I guess because of that I don't particularly care to speak much further on the matter, and I've said what I could from what I was able to learn in the short period. I'd suggest most of us to ditch it too. But that's just me.

tl;dr: the grand jury were shown an unconstitutional law that hasn't even been a law since 1985, so like almost THIRTY FUCKING YEARS. It was ruled unconstitutional by the supreme court. The "law" says it's legal to shoot fleeing suspects simply because they are fleeing.

EDIT: "When the 'mistake' was realised-after Wilson's 4hr testimony-Jury were given correct law, but weren't told what false info the were given. After listening to Wilson's testimony with the belief he had acted lawfully, the Jury never had it explained to them why he may not have. When the jury were vaguely told that 'one part' of the law they'd been given had been overruled by the Supreme Court, a juror asked if the US Supreme Court could overrule state statutes. ADA replied: 'don't worry about that.' The answer is an easy YES." - Twitter person summing up this stuff

also as Snake repeatedly points out, the people trying SO FUCKING HARD to defend Wilson were the people supposed to be PROSECUTING HIM

One of the problems is that white people keep burning buildings to the ground. I get your anger and I get that it's hyperbole, but it's a good chance to highlight that Ferguson residents are seeing their workplaces, grocery stores and churches burn because rioters from out of area are coming in with no regard to the damage.

Also tear gas canisters are burning so the cops are responsible for a healthy amount of the fires. I believe the car lot that went up was triggered by tear gas?

Yeah there were some white anarchists who were trying to start shit early on, also possible that the cops are having plainclothes officers or the like start shit. Like, that's actually a thing law enforcement does to shut down protests. It's documented and everything.
