First off, CC's point about how MB runs a game. He was EXTREMELY descriptive in the last game he ran here, .Hack//mafia.

Here's the Night 2 happenings in that game.

Quote:

As he approached what some players called the "Black Square"(which is known for... less than legal activities) he heard someone say "So who is it who called me out here.... oh, its you. Hey man whats up?" To which the figure replied "I have something that might arouse your interest. Its just under this sheet". The newcomer walked past the figure and looked at the object with a sheet on it. "But whats under--" **THUD**. A blunt object came crashing down on the back of the newcomer's head. The figure took the sheet off and got to work.

As he finished the figure was confronted by 5 figures in cloaks. They uttered no words as they began tearing into him with their swords. The lone figure slumped to the ground, dead.
------------------------------------------------------------------
As all this was happening a player was sitting on a rooftop looking at the river. "Nice night eh?" came a voice from behind. The player quickly drew daggers and wheeled around to see a person in a trenchcoat standing there. He raised a hand and said "I didn't come here for a fight. I think you would be the perfect person to join our organization." "Join the cult eh? No thanks" the player said and quickly jumped off the rooftop and dissapeared leaving the trenchcoat person standing there, looking at the stars.
------------------------------------------------------------------
As the morning sun rose a yelling could be heard from deep in the city "Come quick! There's been two murders last night!" A crowd rushed to the Black Square to see a gruesome sight. First of all, there was B_real_shadows, Level 39 player, Town Alligned actually, of all things, CRUCIFIED and leaning up against a building. And slumped over on the ground is the body of the man who did it to him. It was Ferix Strider, Serial Killer, Self Alligned disembowled, and surrounded by a circle of his own entrails. The crimson knights come in and usher everyone away from the gruesome scene, but one thing is certain. The mafia needs to be stopped before they do something this horrible again.
He even put in it a failed cultification. So I'm going to say that the Bodyguard didn't protect anyone who was attacked. Especially when the only thing we got out of him about the mafia is that there was muffled argueing.

And here's the rest of the game too.

As for Newb:

MB probably would have sent a PM to 42 because 42 HAS been online during those 2 days. I should know because I got a PM from him(42) during that time involving the Diplomacy game we're playing. Not to mention I talk to him fairly regularly on Aim/MSN so he shouldn't have been to difficult to get a hold of. Plus, why would MB suddenly drop it for someone who HAS been active in the game already? You even linked yourself to posts that 42 made on day 1. Now, there has been a 6 day time lapse between his post and the end of the day, but even then, thats a little extreme to just discount 42's activity and skip the mafia kill altogether if there was some latent activity, which I doubt MB would do without publicly announcing a deadline.

My vote stands.

Well of course you defend your don.

And no, I can't back this one up.

This guess is purely my Mafia Senses™.

What? because I don't like the logic behind your vote? I try to put peoples habits into the equation when considering stuff like this. Hence why I went lookin for .hack//mafia to show MB habits of being a GM and why I don't think it adds up for 42 considering they both use aim and MB hasn't posted a deadline so there wouldn't be any reason for him just end the night for someone whose been active in the game.

hmm I don't think B_real is mafia, his decision to hear LHNs argument before voting him is something I consider to be indicating that he is town. the people I am most suspicious of being mafia are 42(almost certain), Barrel-hater(Pretty-sure), Mr. Bookworm (Kinda-sure and ecurt(completely sure), My reason for being suspicious of Bookie is him almost instantly jumping on LHN and I think Barrel-Hater may have just been waiting for a more experienced mafiate to follow his example and since his two posts early on bookworm has been quiet.

I don't understand why you'd think that my subscriptions messing up makes me scummy. If you talk to anyone, I pretty much do all my activity on this forum through my subscriptions, and the occasional sweep of the main forum. I'll grant that using invisitext in the post was bad, but really I don't understand how that's a big deal. It has nothing to do with how scummy I might be, only the fact that I tried to make a stupid joke, because Fenris has been the only person to delete all my subscriptions before. Also, I try to talk people away from killing me? Is that supposed to mean that I'm mafia, because I want to stay in the game? I had found out 15 minutes before that I was tied for being lynched the previous day, so yeah, I think it's hardly surprising that I said something to defend myself.
Quote:
On top of which, B_Real, somebody suddenly turning inactive... that sounds an awful lot like 42, now doesn't it?
Are you saying that suddenly going inactive is something that I do a lot? Because that's clearly not the case. The only time I've ever left the forum suddenly was at christmas break and spring break, and I even posted in the PA thread when I left.
Quote:
On the other hand, if somebody posted a few times, I would sort of expect them to get a role in, and so when 42's subscriptions (which, incidentally, is tied to the PM system on most forums) stop working and he doesn't realize night has fallen... he is unable to send in a night role, and Major Blood is left drumming his fingers with impatience.
I suppose this might make sense, because I didn't elaborate very much on what was wrong with my subscriptions. All of my other subscriptions seem to be working, as well as my PM system. I have been active recently, and I have sent PM's, as B real said. This specific thread does not update for some unknown reason. Hell, it says that I have a subscription to it right now, yet I hadn't received any emails saying that there has been a post since my one earlier today, and I wouldn't have been reading this if I han't learned from past experience. Also, first you write as if I wasn't saying anything on purpose, and then used bad subscriptions as an excuse, and then, later in the same post, you say that the reason there was no mafia kill is because my subscriptions aren't working. It seems like you don't have a very steady basis for your accusations.

Now it just seems like you're sticking with the popular vote to distract people from the fact that the popular arguement is weakening, and that you don'y want attention focussed on yourself.

B real's arguement seems to make the most sense right now, but I'm going to wait since I've clearly been too trigger happy with votes in the past, so I can't really vote now.
But I will FOS: Newb

Actually, 42, it was more meant as a "catching you coming and going" thing.

Either there really was a problem and you didn't realize you were supposed to send in your night role, or it was a deliberate thing and you just stayed quiet hoping for things to blow over.

Personally, I feel that it's silly at best for you to think that nobody would post in two days even, but I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you when you say that you really didn't read the thread at all.

Which... in fact... leads right back to you being the don and not sending in your role.

You see my dilemma here?

Also, I was trying to be thorough when I mentioned that you defended yourself. That was not to imply that defending yourself is scummy.

And, actually, my suspecting B_Real has more to do with other reasons I won't get into right now, because I hate to give away the tells of others, lest they change them and it becomes harder to pin them down in the future.

Granted, my excuse is haphazard, and I can't really say anything other than that for the first day or so, I had assumed that it died, and then it slipped my mind from there. I realize that this sounds stupid, but theres really not much I can do about this other than point out that saying nothing when I'm tied for a lynch is even more stupid.

Silly Newb, you seem to have accidentally left out the possibility that I missed for a few days, and there was no consequence, other than the fact that I missed a chance to defend myself. You should be more careful about leaving out possibilities, especially when it could lead to someone getting lynched.

Now that seems pretty scummy to me. Supposedly you are purposefully withholding who you think is mafia (and evidence that shows this) for the explicit reason of giving you an edge in future games. I think the more likely possibility is that you aren't telling the full truth, and doing more of the same to distract from yourself. I still really can't make a decision on who to vote for yet, but this only makes me more suspicious of you.

Who? No.
How? Yes.
If I gave away the how it wouldn't work anymore, you see?

Also, true, there is the possibility that you really did miss it AND you're not a mafiate, but in that situation, I just have to say "events conspired to make you look REALLY bad."
