Like, there's no way that Kit's shot could've just mortally wounded one of them so they lay in the cold desert, bleeding out slowly, waiting for death. Crying out for their mothers with trembling lips, desperate for one last shred of comfort before a lonely, painful death. Feeling, through the haze of pain, a cold, slimy weight climb up onto their chest, eyes widening in horror as a creature from the pits of hell came into view. Desperately wanting to struggle away, to get up and run from this thing. Realizing that they were pinned, helpless, trapped by their broken body. At its mercy. Crying silent tears of terror as it forced their mouth open. Gagging desperately as sharp antennae stratched the backs of their throats. The last thing they felt would be its awful, smooth bulk sliding down their throats before everything went mercifully black.

That couldn't happen, right?

"Mercifully"....

(Liz was the one who shot them, by the way. Kit just created the spider monster that gave birth to the demon slugs that impregnated their bodies. I have a happy comic.)

EDIT: Maybe "impregnate" is the wrong word here. Possessed? Symbiotically attached to? I dunno. It sounded creepier saying "Impregnate" though so I went with it. (I don't know the science!)

Except I'm sure the Dreadful equivalent of an orbital nuke has it's own disgusting "It got worse" drawbacks.

Hey, quick question, how are you going to draw black people while keeping the monochrome color scheme?(if you even plan to have any)

Just curious on how you'll deal with this problem if you happen to run into it, or bringing it to your attention so that you don't have to worry about it later.

*edit* unless grey isn't off limits, but it appears to be used pretty rarely in this comic.

Second dude from the left in the last panel of comic 95 looks black-ish. I may be wrong though. Matt?

I figure the non-anime style lets me have more realistic facial features and I think I can indicate ethnicity without resorting to shading. I'd like to keep the digital work to a minimum, and I think it would look off visually if someone had their skin shaded when nothing else was. If there are any questions as to a minor character's skin color, just take your best guess. I don't want a White Washed World, but with the art how it is, that might not be too obvious.

In the cases of main characters, where it's important for the sake of detail, clarification will be done via wallpapers or colored pieces of fanart. Like Kit and Jeanne for example. Kit is pink, and Jeanne is a blue/grey/green. There's really no way to tell that in the comic, so I either have to mention it, or have a picture of them available for reference.

There is also a major character who is a black woman. She's not appeared in it yet, but she plays an important role later. When the story started out, her and Kit were the only people I had. The reason she hasn't been in it yet is because I need a few things to happen first.

Just curious - How much plot did you have mapped out when you started drawing the comic? I'm guessing you had a rough idea of where the story is headed, but at what time do you finalize plot points?

Certain plot elements (like this one for instance) I had in my head for a long time. Though sometimes I will change my mind at the last second, which can be really annoying and cause some delay. There's a part coming up where I had the script all planned for something to happen, and RIGHT when I got to the page I instantly changed my mind and then had to change it.

I don't see scripts/outlines as being set in stone, so if I think of something better as I go, I don't have a problem with changing it. I think that's a luxury I have as both writer and artist.

I used to never plan ANYTHING. I would just get a vague idea where I wanted it to go and just draw/write till I got there. That makes for a lot of problems and I think the earlier part of the comic is a bit too sloppy. I have changed my tune though, and this chapter and the next one are all planned out in detail prior to drawing. I like that because I can set things up better, and have more control over how the chapter is paced. Still, like I said, the script isn't set in stone, so it might still get changed, it just will be smarter changes

It's mainly to post pics and updates and stuff, it's going to be very minimal. All Dreadful related. I might make more of it in the future but for now this is about all I want to do with it.
