I would change things around with the fighting engine itself, like such (wall of text incoming):
-Lessen recovery on certain moves such as regular Brave strings, since I believe the recovery on some moves is too much. -Lessen the stun after being blocked. I think getting a free anything after a block is a little too much, unless you're ExDeath and your entire point is blocking. -Add a ground/wall ukemi technique, to stop bullshit like CoD repeatedly spamming her huge AoE Brave attack up against a wall. This could also introduce tech traps for deeper mindgames. -Perhaps change how blocking works. Have the parry set to Forward+R or something and the regular block be holdable, like in a normal fighting game, but have the character get pushed back or something. Also, since it's possible to delay strikes in Dissidia this could introduce blockstrings for more pressure+mindgames possibily. -Introduce mechanics, or perhaps just character, who actually make more use of the Brave/EX meter than just for big attacks. Perhaps having EX moves that use up a portion of the EX meter? -Change the dodge mechanic somehow so it's not spammable. I noticed that some things can be straight up nullified by just spamming dodges everywhere, which isn't right. One example of this is Ex Kuja's jumps. Also, have recovery not be cancellable by a dodge. -Perhaps making the attack mechanics theirselves more flexable, to allow for the player's own combos. For example, Frionel's (and Butz's) thrown axe melee attack has great potential for creative combos, but it has a preset followup that cannot be changed. I was thinking of making a system of stuns, ala the later DBZ: Budokai games, but that would require a big adjustment of the Brave stat and how much Brave damage some attacks do. -Remove that QTE event thing that comes up after someone gets knocked away, it breaks the flow of the game and happens far too often for my liking. -CONSOLE RELEASE, NATIVE ONLINE VS MATCHES. Feel free to add, criticise or tell me how dumb my ideas are. |
