Ah.
Well, half-demon upgrades wouldn't do Pierce much good without a level in Slayer, hm? And then there's of course, Breeder levels. Bah. I don't know how many Slayer levels to take! EDIT: Don't think I've forgotten about Tentacle Leech. The answer is still "not a chance in hell".

Well, I imagine AB might have some alternatives rewards of demons for a more magical or support build or have Demons be damn powerful hand to hand (since Slayers tend to use accessories and weapons), although Slayer AND demon would be a powerful force to be reckoned with.
At least since you're not planning on going full demon, you can go for Breeder or Slayer without hampering your immediate growth, since you can recieve the bonus for those immediately instead of having that 2 1/2 mission delay like Impact might have to. And Tentacle Leech will press on! Regardless of your dislike for the lovable hentai monster. :3 Last edited by Menarker; 06-27-2010 at 12:23 PM. |

What I mean is that the half-demon upgrades would be wasted on a trainer, seeing as how they can't attack.
Well, there's trainer attack, of course, but that's still a waste of demon power. Also, no. Tentacle Leech is fucking broken and you goddamn know it. Mollesk simply should not be able to heal itself for free. And certainly not with a 150 power attack. 100 power is still too much. And if neither you nor AB will listen to reason and approve the damn thing, then at least it must not work on bosses.

150 power? I had 120 at its max before I suggested 100 with 85% accuracy... Oh, you're talking STAB.
Mollesk had Recover since it was created. Bug pokemon had the move Leech Life. This is just logically taking it to the next step. This is just the upgraded version of it with an added bonus. Although I guess I could remove the haze effect, although I figured it would be a neat utility, especially against bosses that love to spam that +5 to all stats thing. |

Except, y'know, Recover doesn't deal damage, and Leech Life and Absorb and Giga Drain and all that crap deal crap damage.
Also, when you posted the move you said this: Quote:
But if you meant it as working like a powered-up version Leech Life? Still too strong.

Powered up Leech Life Effect. Had no intention of it working like Leech Seed.
Technically, it works like a combination of Leech Life and Drain Punch (An attack version of Giga Drain), which has 90 Power after STAB and drained 50%. So what you said about 100 power being too powerful? Not true at all, since it is only different by 10 power with the former (Giga Drain in particular) existing on a TM! This is a Legendary Signature Move we're talking here. And there are precedents of Legendary signature moves being more powerful than their direct counterpart, such as with Seed Flare, a grass variant of Fire Blast that had a 40% chance of dropping a foe's special defense by 2 in addition. I won't likely drop any further than 80 Power (120 after STAB) Bug type Attack damage and 100% accuracy with 50% health drain and the single target Haze attached. No restriction on foes. Anyhow, I'm off to work. Won't be back for several hours. Last edited by Menarker; 06-27-2010 at 01:31 PM. |

Understood. We'll just call them Pokemon Veterans. They'll gain the stat boosts of an evolution without the need for actual evolution. I can do that.
I won't allow you to have Snagless Pokemon, however. One of the better strategies out there is to force the enemy to fight the way you want them to. Putting a Snagger or two on a battle will certainly get the attention of the Trainers. The enemy is usually the same level as the Trainer regardless, so the point of having your class higher than the enemy's is moot. However, Snaggers and Tuners will always have a maximum number of Pokemon to Snag (usually one or two) so don't expect them to bleed you dry of useable Pokemon. Also, their Snags usually only work when your Pokemon is weak. All I can say is, try to keep them out of trouble. Leader Pokemon and Xth Stage/Veteran Pokemon will have access to six moves. If it's a Leader Pokemon who is also Xth Stage/Veteran, then it has access to eight. I already told Geminex about reserving levels in Demon Half for when it actually happens, and the answer is yes. It may seem unbalanced, but you'll just be going like, almost two missions before those upgrades become available. Everything else, I'll just say that I'll consider it. I'm mostly curious as to why you want more custom hold items to begin with. You can decide if it's a Co-Op Technique or a custom move yourself. The difference is that as a Co-Op, you could make it more powerful to offset the fact that it'll cost Rage. I'll have to decide when Xth Stage evolutions or Veteran training becomes available. I'm think 1st, 3rd, and 5th like you suggested. NPCs are unique in upgrading. If an NPC is only one class, that NPC will stop upgrading when that class reaches maximum. Plot events may have that NPC dual class, but then again maybe not. So, while you go all the way up to 15 levels, they stop at 10 levels. These people usually tend to end up as Enforcers, but some will also be other Specialties to cope for only having 10 levels. Dual class NPCs upgrade twice each mission. Rayleen has been gaining upgrades in both Slayer and Trainer at the same time ever since. Eventually she'll stop at 20 levels as an Overblade/Breeder, which will make her extremely powerful around mid-game, but the gap will grow smaller after that. She'll still be more powerful than any single PC, but them's the breaks. I'm planning to have it all done during duty today, or at least the important parts of it done. Relax, the mission still has a long way to go, and even if I still suck at the end of it, I'd allow for a respec. But it definitely won't come to that. |

Also, I'm not going to be the one that scours Bulbapedia for it, but how many pokemon that know Giga Drain or Drain Punch have 100 Attack like Mollesk? And if there are any with as much or more attack than Mollesk, how broken do you think it would be if they could use a 120 power HP-draining move? And it had STAB? And it could remove buffs? What if the pokemon using it was also a defensive powerhouse, meaning the HP drain would make it damn near invincible while allowing it to deal great damage? Quote:
Not suggested. I specifically don't want them to available on the 5th. I would in fact much prefer it if all three custom evolutions could be gotten earlier, seeing as how I'm trying to spend as few upgrades on Breeder as possible. And besides, if Breeders get everything (custom moves, custom evolutions) on the 1st, 3rd and 5th levels, what the hell are 2nd and 4th for?

You're probably going to end up with three Signature Techniques, which become available at the same levels no matter which upgrades you choose.
2nd and 4th will have their own upgrades. If you don't want to spend the levels to get those upgrades, then don't. If you do want the spent the levels to get those upgrades, then do. I'm eventually going to put these things in stone, but chances are that it's going to be exactly like this. And any request to move a certain upgrade to a lower level will be shot down. I won't let you become more powerful for free just because you don't want to put your levels into that class. Anyways, I'm off to duty. I hope I can get it all done today. |

I think that's what you're saying because, see, with dual-classing there's really nothing to stop someone from getting, say, two Slayer Signature Techs and two Trainer Co-Ops. Quote:
