Well, today was my last day of Studio Art, and tomorrow I get out of high school for good. I decided to make good use of my last opportunity to use the school's art stuff.

The first sketches were on some notebook paper during Chemistry; I traced over that in ink with the lightbox in the art room; the color was (badly) done with Prismacolor markers. I actually messed up on the first Shyria's hair and had to try and fix it with Liquid Paper

About the profile views; pretend their arms are still there, I was just too lazy to figure out the perspective on them at the time. I wanted to focus more on getting the body shapes right anyways.

Got bored waiting for my roleplaying spark to rekindle, so I doodled another character ref pic.

Artist Notes:

This design was taken from Loyal's custom sprites, since the dragon sprite I did wasn't very good and I wanted a character design exclusively used for NPF (the design on my DeviantART page is more for my online persona in general).
The wing closest to the viewer was left out to show the construction of the frills; one loooong one going down the spine, and two smaller ones in front of each wing.
I'll include references for the wings and tail in another post; my big wish is to find a way to retrace and color everything digitally so that all the parts are in one big final ref. Unfortunately, I only have Photoshop Elements 4 and Paint.net on my computer; the former tends to be somewhat iffy running on Vista (not to mention the lack of pen tool and my crappy handwriting when it comes to tablet use), and I haven't practiced enough with the latter to know if it can do what I want to do.
As for size *pulls out 3.5 Draconomicon* based on the measurements there and the fact that she was ripping tanks apart in the Avvy RP, Dragon!Shyria's probably somewhere between a Large and Huge size category.

EDITED TO AVOID DOUBLEPOST: I also went back and started redoing Shyria's Medic outfit from this comic in Paint.net (Thanks for introducing it to me Mac!)

EDITED x2: Finished Medic!Shyria's sprite sheet. I think I did a good job translating the weapon's overall look to sprite form, but not their sizes. Also, I can't rotate them to lie completely flat/horizontal for some of the poses (I drew them aligned diagonally on the canvas, so the rotate options in Paint.net won't cut it). Any way I can fix that without completely redrawing them?
