I personally thought This Day was pretty lame/disappointing, and BBBFF was way better than it.

I did a lot of posting on here as a teenager, and I was pretty awful. Even after I learned, grew up, and came to be on the right side of a lot of important issues, I was still angry, abrasive, and generally increased the amount of hate in the world, in pretty unacceptable ways. On the off chance that someone is taking a trip down memory lane looking through those old threads, I wanted to devote my signature to say directly to you, I'm sorry. Meh. The idea is nebulous enough that them independently conceiving of the idea makes sense.
Plus, it was used in a different capacity than just funneling it into a big ol' energy beam.

How can anyone have preferred BBBFF over This Day?
It didn't help that BBBFF appeared for no reason to replace actual speech, which is always terrible. Normal conversation to song to normal conversation with no scene changes is just annoying.

I wasn't a fan of BBBFF either--and, to be honest, This Day was only a little better, if you ask me. However, I do give huge props to Ingram for being very clever about it.

Maybe it was the visuals that made me really like This Day? I don't know. Something about it I felt really did well at portraying extreme malice on one end of it (Chrysalis's second verse in particular), and lots of desperation on the other side.
The fact that all of it was apparently the same singer is a nice touch.
