It's a Hyperbole and a Half joke built upon the fact that "alot" is not a real word. Unfortunately, Locke missed that the point of Krylo's post was to basically miss the point of the cake joke.

The cake was a reference to a joke based on that very grammer mistake. The Alot.

The other guy was in the know, when he said "That's a lot of cake", but using proper grammar doesn't keep the joke intact.
