Damn it, this is making me want to play Exalted so bad.
I'm enjoying hearing how overpowered and absurd Exalted is, but I think we need another fight. Let's say... Jean Grey with Phoenix Force vs Full powered Arel from Nuklear Age. The full power of every life in the universe (if I remember right?) against...I think it was the power of the stars. (Let's assume Arel doesn't count as a life Jean has the power of, for fairness' sake.) |

Edit: I'll bet on Arel. Life can exist at all because of a tiny fraction of a given star's energy. And if the stars have a god, his name is Arel.

I am completely convinced that I should never play Exalted now.
Edit: On second thought, the Exalts would win the short term fight but would still lose, because the real champ in the world of darkness is the world of darkness. You always lose.

A: These are only extremes. Inasmuch as Exalteds are stupidly overpowered, the game has plenty of room for even the smallest of figures to change everything. B: Solar exalts are BRIGHT motherfuckers. That world would not be dark anymore.

You're comparing a gothic horror world, to a world in which you play godlings who fight other godlings, and take holiday killing gods and fae.
I mean, really, there's just no comparison here in power levels. White Wolf made both systems, and they're pretty clear on which universe has the more powerful creatures. That doesn't mean the characters just blow through everything. Take the Deathlords, for instance. They're a group of thirteen ghosts. Specifically the ghosts of first age solars whom still have all their power. They swore loyalty to the Neverborn (the remains of the slain primordials, who can know only pain and can not truly die until existence is ended), and work to end all of existence. To give an idea of their powers, they have charms that allow them to use, at minimal cost to themselves, a perfect defense against any attack for the rest of the scene without giving up any of their edge in offense. Yes, the Solars are tough. Their antagonists are tougher yet.

So how did these Solars even manage to kill the first thing above gods anyway? I mean if the gods made solars and such, why didn't the whatever things say hey good idea and make solars +1 to kill them?
I mean it sounds like the game works explicitly because someone said this is how it works, without any logic. I like oWoD and D&D because as much brokenness you can do in them, it at least makes an attempt to explain why gods can one shot you in the latter while being lower level (they are a different class of being altogether and thus can do stuff you can't even understand) and the former why your sire is always stronger individually than you (because the blood in your veins is farther away from Caine than theirs). So far Exalted sounds like it has conclusion first, explanation later or not at all. Giving your character an ability that protects them against anything, even attacks they lack the capability to understand can't be explained except the developers felt like it was totally awesome, and that doesn't appeal to me at all. Making your foes even awesomer isn't going to cut it with me if I didn't think you were cool already. TL: DR Exalted are Goku and are silly.

Because when the primordials created the gods, they made them as caretakers for the reality they created. The primordials then created the GAMES OF DIVINITY! The games of divinity are so enthralling that once you start playing you pretty much stop paying attention to anything else.
Now when the primordials created the gods they figured the gods would probably be a little bit pissed about this so they geased the gods to be unable to ever hurt them. Now a few millenia pass and the gods are all "Fuck this shit is fucking unfair." They bitch around for awhile and eventually two primordials agree to help them. Gaia, the earth and commander of the dragons, and Autochthon the builder. Autochthon along with the Unconquered Sun created the Solars, and then worked with Luna to make the Lunars. He then went on to work with the Maidens of Fate to create the Sidereals. Meanwhile Gaia had her dragons give their powers onto mortals to create the dragonblooded, who would be the shock troops for the celestial exalted. Or, tl;dr version: The gods created the solars specifically to be super weapons to kill the primordials. Also the primordial who makes super weapons helped. That is why they can kill gods. They were designed for it. That's why the primordials didn't one up them, they were distracted and their weapon building guy was on the other team. P.S. if you're going to argue something in a versus thread, or at all really, research it first. You don't see me arguing in fights with obscure anime characters I don't know about.

It's worth noting that the Yozis likely consider their defeat a temporary condition. These are guys who can look at Infinity. A few dozen millenia isn't that big of a deal.
Also fighting the Primordials erased big chunks of reality, like concepts and physical laws. Of course, no one can remember the things that were lost, because now they never existed. Quote:
