And to add insult to injury, right after losing all offensive ability, my survivors waltzed over the border and took their country!
You can tell I trained my men well.

Mind you, Gems' men were better trained back then. :P
This was 25 against 15 (or something.) With Gems, what was it? 21 against 5, or something? Now THAT was something.

It looks like it's all over for me. I have only one regret, not having Southern Europe as my death bed when it is all said and done.

A small* villa in Italy?
A modest* estate on Crete? Perhaps an olive yard in Turkey? Who knows? * Read: Opulent and grand EDIT: Also, people calling for a rematch. I am totally cool with that. But if I do another boardgame, it won't be immediately, and it won't be Risk. There's other boardgames I have. Oh, yes... I do. The Risk re-match will be done after THAT.

Once the PC version of Risk:Fractions goes on sale. Perhaps then, there might be a LP of that?...

A two-fold apology.
1) I intended to update the game Wednesday. However, work threw an extra delivery day at me, without any due notice. I only got that announcement on Tuesday, when they delivered a new stack of mail to be delivered. I have everybody's orders in, so I intend to update the game coming Sunday. 2) It seems I misread the rules. I was under the impression that you could attack with an unlimited number of armies from any given territory. What the rules actually said is that you can attack a given enemy territory unlimited times... from different friendly territories, but only with a maximum of three armies at a time. (Also, only once from every different territory.) I blame the fact that this game explicitly mentions it's revised rules, so I just missed the bit where the rules also explicitly mention attacking and defending has remained unchanged. I am not certain whether my house rule is something I should maintain in the future, as it does somewhat speed up the game but it can lead to some... imbalances. Regardless of what I do in the future (assuming there'll be a next Risk LP), this LP will be continued with the current rules still in place. Quote:

Round 8
State of the world after re-enforcements:
Greater Hommnyr One territory left before Europe is free from both Blue and Black scum, all of the Hommnyr recruits are shipped to Russia for that final push. Unfortunately for Impact, it appears Hawk has strengthened his sole remaining foothold in Southern Europe. Five battalions are pushed forwards, into Greece where they meet up with seven battalions of Awesomely Imperial defenders. A fairly even-sided battle ensues, nearly forcing a stalemate with one attacking battalion holding and moving forward against two defenders. Sadly, fatigue set in amongst the rookies, and exhaust finally leads to defeat. At the very least, the Imperial threat hasn't grown in Europe. Imperium of Awesome Maybe the colour red was getting on Hawk's nerves, maybe it was something Impact said. I don't know what did it, but after leaving Europe well alone, the Awesomely Imperial army pushes hard for Europe in what looks like a blitzkrieg. First a small army crosses the Strait of Gibraltar from Morocco into Spain. Unaware and understaffed, the six Blue battalions make quick work of the single Red defending battalion. From Spain, via France, through the Strait of Dover, Great Britain is then on the target list. Once again, caught unaware, the Hommnyr battalion did not even see the night-time landing in Dover. Outflanked by the five Awesomely Imperial battalions, the defender surrendered without a fight. Sensitive papers were wisely burned, however. Incapable of resisting the lure of the Dutch coffeeshops and distinctly red lighting among the Amsterdam canals, the field commander makes an initiative and crosses the North Sea into the Netherlands and Northern Europe with four battalions. Once again, an easy victory for the Imperial Army, although it is unsure how the Supreme Overlord will react when he hears that one of his commanders placed hookers and blow above the plans of the Imperium. His North African forces ravaging the Amsterdam Red Light District for anything that'll get them high and anything that'll get paid to get laid, Hawk looks to his Greenland soldiers to finish the job. First off, five battalions attack their little brother, Iceland. The single defender puts up a hard fight, taking out two of the attacking battalions before they even set foot on Iceland soil, but eventually they fall to the stronger Imperial soldiers. Slightly crippled, the Awesomely Imperial warmachine still marches on, landing in Norway to take over Scandinavia. Unable to spot the attacker through the dense Norwegian woods, the Hommnyr soldiers are easily picked off by Blue snipers. Finally, perhaps in an act of euphoria, Hawk orders a push at Russia. A grand army of a single battalion marches down, into the Ukraine. Enraged by their earlier defeat in Southern Europe, the Russian army was hoping for a rematch. And a rematch it turned out to be. In a furious bloodlust, the Russian Bear Cavalry cuts through the attacker like a hot knife through butter. And so Hawk's conquest of Europe is stopped short in Russia, with a great deal of help from Iceland. Imperium of Awesome takes: Western Europe, Great Britain, Northern Europe, Iceland and Scandinavia! Empire of Zedan His only wish to keep Asia under control, Tzar Aguia once again pulls the elite soldiers from Mongolia, and sets them loose at the Blue invader in Kamchatka. Nine battalions are sent against the six defenders, and told to either liberate that land, or return in a coffin. Some of the Mongolian Zedanians took this a little bit too literally, rushing blindly into battle when it looked like they were going to lose, but the last four battalions held just a little bit more love for their own life than that of their Tzar's. They devised a clever plan, sending three battalions for a fake surrender, while the other one infiltrated the Blue base. Attacking from inside, the four Imperial battalions were surprised and dispatched between a small battalion of soldiers with guns, and a far more terrifying group of soldiers killing with nothing but bare hands and teeth. Empire of Zedan takes Kamchatka! State of the World after Round 8 The rest of the update is coming soon! I'm late for games. >__>
