Aim for the top!

School's finally out so I got to working on some more art. I have about 3 drawings lined up to be scanned, but here is a little something I whipped up in about 20mins in Photoshop. Enjoy!

Hmmm....something was missing from the sig I made, so I added a rain effect to increase the grittiness. What do you all think?

Much improved, though IMO you could've done a rust/pitted effect over the top to give it a static grittiness instead. That's a personal taste, though. =)

Excellent landcape Arlia! The only thing I would maybe suggest is perhaps some more darks? It's an excellent piece (I stress excellent), but perhaps some darks would make it better? (or else it's my art teacher talking to me "Make your darks darker and your lights lighter!")
And I like your sig thing with the rain effect Batgirl. It helps with the feel of the piece. And I just drew a picture, And what kind of fan would I be if I never drew my namesake: Celes! And if someone knows a good way to draw good lipstick or something like that, tips would be appreciated. ^^;

Just a little bit of highlighting on one side of the lip typically does the job good, in my observation. =) Nice pic, the pose makes it look more "active".

High quality as always CJ.
Needless to say, I'm not in the best of moods.

Okay. My first sketch submission to this thread. I think ... Nonetheless, go me!
Trying out three different things here. Experimentation with art. Woo Hoo! One: Sketching a picture completely digitally. There was no prior sketching with pencil and paper with this piece. It was all done with an art program. The plan being to start with a base sketch and build up on it with layer upon layer of different details. Two: Testing out my wacom tablet. Three: Drawing proportions that are not exactly ... natural. I'm studying the anatomy of the human body. The theory being that if I want to break the rules, I first need to know them. The idea here, however, is to create proportions that are irregular, and build them up to the point where the mind accepts them as natural, or asthetically pleasing. This is the base "wireframe" with a little bit of the detail sketched over top. Nothing much to speak of yet, until we start removing the wireframe. Okay. Some of the wireframe is gone, and we can see how the sketch overtop of the frame looks. Nothing too extraordinary, but nothing too shabby. There are areas that look wrong, obviously. But I want that. If I can build up these areas to look esthetically pleasing and somewhat fool the brain into accepting the piece, then my experimentation is a success.
