of course, this is all a moot point, seeing as how casters get exactly five spells, and the ones I chose heal wounds, cure status effect, boost stats, greatly reduce damage from physical sources, and greatly reduce damage from magical sources.

I'm likely to cast Nurture(temporary stat boost) and Shield(reduce physical) on the whole party before I go to sleep, at which point I'll curl up under my large shield.

If the shield moves at all, I'll wake up quickly.

Strong emotions directed at Erthiz are also likely to wake him up, but that isn't as certain.

EDIT: If we are allowed to use the DnD spells in addition to the five spells we chose, then I think I'd cast sanctuary before falling asleep. Prevents all combat involving the caster. Can't attack, can't be attacked.

I think you also put better hearing. That wouldn't be good for my cause. And does shield have a specific time limit? I'm not worried about fighting you, simply about you shouting and waking everybody up.

Nurture lasts for three hours, Shield and Protect last for two miles traveled on foot, or six miles by vessel.

And I get a racial bonus to listen checks, yeah.

would that be listen, or hear? The difference being whther you need to focus and try to do it, rather than hearing better, which would result in you waking up easier.

My choice would be hugging everyone and not killing anybody, but that's just the pack mentality talking.

Without that, my choice would be killing the guy who caused us to waste so many pages on that snake.
