Last time on Let's Play: Final Fantasy 6, we delved into the restless mind of former ~~First Class Cloud Strife~~ Samurai ~~Cyan~~ Thou Garamonde where we relived his dreams of becoming the best ~~SOLDIER~~ Samurai since Yoshimitsu and to vanquish the darkness brooding in his hearts. (too bad we can't do that to all JRPG hero's.) after wresting free his soul from Wrexsoul, he confronts his past, honours his fallen friend ~~Zack Fair~~ Yoshimitsu and acquires the greatest weapon a ~~SOLDIER~~ Samurai could use; The Masamune.

~~Sephiroth has now been added to the party.~~

Anyway enough with the flashback we are off to find the rest of our comrades

Hello what's this? A strange tower in the middle of a mountain which has recently surfaced from the cold waters below. I wonder what strange artifacts we'll find here. Perhaps keys to a long lost civilization such as the

Shrine of Chaos

or the famed

Tower of Bab-Il.

I vote for a training montage and actually getting a decent party for there. Also, spamming Runic if the enemies can also only cast spells.

I vote to pick up the Cactuar Esper before the training montage. Or maybe at the same time, I seem to recall you get it in the good ol' magic-powerlevelling desert south of Maranda. And give it to Thou to teach him speed. Also pick up Gogo, xe knows all the magic spells anyone else in the party knows.

Well then how about we get Cocke, then use Cocke in Narshe to go for Mog and Umaro since with Mog you can use the Moogle Charm and walk through the entire Tower without getting into any random encounters.

That is why always use moogle charm in Kefka's lunatic brainwashed followers club's tower. But then again I don't believe that's a wise way to do it as much it's lazy way to do it.

But anyway, uhm. Go to Kefka's tower and get some fancy dices to Hefner so he can cheat next time when he is trying to get Store as his wife.
Then go to Veldt so you can get spells to Bitch, Loli and Store and You should also get some rages you to use. Without leveling up! Yay! No level ups to anybody!
And that Sarda's personal quest perhaps?

Or you can get Mog and the Moogle Charm before you get Cocke so then Mog can be his own team when getting Cocke.

No moogle's charm. The ultima finish of the last boss will wipe out any group without sufficient HP. Here is what you do:

A) Train up hard until every single character has at LEAST 5500 HP and then climb the tower, still preferably with the Moogle Charm and making sure to take out the white dragon along the way. Once you reach the boss, use berserk to force him into physical attacks and then summon phantom to become invisible and therefore immune to those attacks. Fight until he uses ultima, then dies.

B) Travel up with the Moogle Charm, use the berserk/phantom combo mentioned above, and then drain the boss' mana using Rasp and Osmose over and over so he can't finish with ultima. When he reaches 0 mana he'll try to cast ultima, fail, and die. This method will take AT LEAST a half hour, and also every character will need to know rasp and osmose.

C) Go to the Star Mountain.

Best training spot is desert south of maranda. Great exp, gold, and magic points. Be careful though, at your levels the worm's sandstorms are still very dangerous, and if you run into Gigantaur you're screwed, so make sure you save frequently.

I've never seen him not do 9999 with that Ultima, so I always just life-3'd my way through that. But yeah, if you can't handle the tower, you probably can't handle the boss.

Anyway, I vote for getting Cocke, because that also nets you a ribbon as I recall, and the Fanatic's Tower is really bad for status effects, so a ribbon would be good. Plus once you have him, you can get Illumina, and once you have Illumina and Atma Weapon on one character (and an offering doesn't hurt), level building in the dinosaur forest is a breeze.
