So, essentially, Ichigo only had a Zanpakuto cause it was created via Rukia's and his "second one" was a mish mash of powers...

But he did found his "own" zanpakuto during his training with Urahara... which i guess, now, just like with the Fullbring stuff... only means that Ichigo imprinted his own power on the Zanpakuto he got via Rukian and made it "his Own-ish"...

Regardless, we all know that this is leading up to Ichigo having a "mugetsu" style blade in the end, he is "Kuwabara-ing" up hard. Reiatsu-Blade here we go...

Actually, having Naruto's new super power being called Kurama, if Ichigo goes Kuwabara, this whole thing will finally fully turn into Yu Yu Hakusho and that would be all kinds of great and stupid at the same time...

As much as I want him to get some kind of Gunblade Zanpakutou/Quincy Gun hybrid.

A Energy Blade formed from his hands does sound pretty cool.

Well that kind of explains the history between Ry?ken and Isshin and why Ry?ken was so insistent that Uryu stay away from Ichigo specifically. Also, this might explain how Ry?ken got so disillusioned about the whole Quincy thing and didn't want to train Uryu.

I think that is what he meant. Personally I just hope its another Kubo troll because it doesn't really make sense without a drastic rewriting of what we know about basically everything at this point. Basically I'm just hoping Kubo just really liked that character design and was looking for an excuse to use it again.

That is unless like Aizen in causing Zanpakuto to manifest and then turn into hollows and that is how the other soul reapers died. Basically the Zanpakuto Rebellion arc but like cannon. Which actually might explain a few things. Namely it would explain how Isshin got his but handed to him and then was saved by a quincy who doesn't seem to be all that strong. Not to mention why he lost his soul reaper powers. So like if that's his Zanpakuto manifested and turned into a hollow and it gets destroyed thereby removing his powers I can totally see why he would stay in the world of the living. The relationship with Masaki being a natural extension of her saving his life. I'm not sure how I feel about a canon Zanpakuto rebellion like event though.

well lets keep in mind that wasn't Ichigo's original hollow form. It did change over time and while mentioned the cause was never brought up and we all know how much kubo loves leaving tidbits like that only to explain them 100 chapters later
