I'd love to see their engine. Does it operate on 2D normally, then use predefined parameters to render out the 3D, or is it all a deceptive 3D planescape that's programmed to react in 2D behavior?
Actually, looking at the transitions, I'd guess that they used both 2D and 3D maps, then blended them in the move, disguising the change with cell-shading. However, I'd love to see this on a handheld system of some sort, if at all possible. I see a lot of platform people passing it up just because of the look.

Okay, with this, and The Underside, I have a lot to look forward to.
And Bob, this does show pretty much the beginning level, maybe even just an engine demo level. And even at that, it's a pretty brilliant feat in puzzle platforming. I can't wait to see how a boss fight would work in this. Quote:
