I know it's been mentioned before, but if you do indeed have a good WPM rate, then it does sound like an entry-level data entry position would probably be your best bet. If you can get into a rhythm easily, then that would only further your ability to perform the tasks efficiently.

I worked in secretarial from 16-19. It's a good job, if you can find the right boss. My problem was when I started at 16, I was just looking for anything. Then, when I hit 18, I wanted a raise from minimum and my boss was getting it easy with paying me lower since I was younger and naive. Plus, now that I'm out of that job, I look back and see so many times that he asked me to lie for him, and I was naive and didn't realize what was happening.
If you want to look into secretarial, i'd suggest calling around and seeing if any positions are available. Secretarial in a bigger office is better then small businesses, because in the small businesses, the doctors/whatever are more apt to try to keep you very low on the payroll. I'd suggest trying for a law firm or something along those lines. A established company, where there's a possibility of moving up. It's easy work, if you don't mind sitting at a desk, answering phones, and doing paperwork/computer work. |
