Roland will become famous soon enough. Eventually. Maybe.

Yeah, okay, during that brief clip I did in fact see hair move. So odds are that picture is just part of said motion, and it will at least sit relatively normally on her body when she's not moving. Crisis possibly averted.

- It's developed by Sandlot -- the folks behind Earth Defense Force 2017, arguably the strangest (and, yet, strangely addictive) title in the Xbox 360's library.

- The story, heavily influenced by Norse mythology, paints Asgard gods Freyr and Freya cooperating with mortals in their war against a race of giants attacking a village to the north -- the first skirmish in what will ultimately escalate into Ragnarok itself.

- The game's basically a rail shooter -- or rail sword-slasher, you could say. Point the Wiimote at the screen and slash (i.e. draw lines) to attack. The game's on the bloody side, and Freyr can hack arms and legs off enemies.

- Freyr is best with melee weapons while Freya is more of a sorceress. Between the two characters, you can wield over 300 different weapons, from swords and bows to warhammers and javelins.

- Given that this is Sandlot making the game, Reginleiv has a lot of huge enemies -- including a frost giant that towers 90 feet into the air. Yipes.

Rail sword-slasher? Didn't we already do that with Dragon Quest Swords?

But let's hype this. Ok, so the pointer can already do slashing across the screen stuff perfectly well; we don't need Motion+ for that. So what could Motion+ be needed for? It must mean that, instead of just tracing lines across the screen to slash (like Lost Winds, in a way), you'll be required to actually swing the remote like a sword. That doesn't really get what I'm thinking across. Let's use Link.

How does Link do a jump-attack? He raises his sword above his head and brings it down. While the pointer could track the last part, it can't tell that you have your sword remote facing behind you above your head. Motion+ can, which would allow a head strike to animate as soon as you start it, not once the pointer sees the last part. More interesting example! How does Link do a spin attack? He holds his sword like a goof-wad from his hip. Pointer can't capture that, the accelerometers would struggle with that, but it's no problem for Motion+. So, perhaps our heroes will have special attacks that require posing like a goof-wad to initiate.

Does that sound fun to you? Pulling off a spin attack like that sounds fun to me.

Hey, Nightsie, remember that thing I posted on the first page where there's nothing that says these games aren't getting a foreign release, there's just nothing saying they will? And how Regs made a thread yesterday about some DS game that was released a year ago finally getting an international release announcement?

Yeah, there's no need to get pissed just yet.

Then again, Disaster, Day of Crisis... Not that I planned to buy that, but still, that was a weird decision...

Yes, but everybody anticipated Mother 3 too.

And guess how much money they lost when Starmen.net released that wonderful translation patch?

Also, this is the first time in ages Nintendo is releasing original franchises. There's no reason that it shouldn't be brought over.

I'm really getting sick of the tedium of Zelda and Mario.

Technically not true. It's just that a lot of their new franchises never leave Japan or Europe.
