Dollhouse is starting to get into the region where its headed toward really fucking good. Unfortunately for some reason they're running two new episodes back to back every week and the current plot is clearly heading swiftly to a conclusion. A conclusion I think would pretty much wrap up the entire season. Getting 2 hours of a great show every week is awesome but it sucks that it just means it'll be off the air that much quicker. I'm just glad we got some actual character/plot development finally.

Peep Show keeps on crackin' me up. I also keep enjoying South Park. Naturally I like other shows, but those are two that are still on TV.

I'm on a similar TV strike and have been for years.
In all of that time there's only about three shows that have gotten me to stop, sit down, and watch them every time they've been on when passing through the living room where other people actually do watch TV. The first is Burn Notice. The banter is great, as are the plots, the acting, and the over all charisma of the cast. Plus, yeah, Bruce Campbell. The second is Chuck. I don't really know what to say about this one--super nerdy retail worker gets the entire CIA database stuck in his skull and ends up the worst spy ever. It's pretty great, and both of the agents sent to protect him are amazing. The acting, is, again, great, as is the banter. The third, and probably best, is Pushing Daisies. Pushing Daisies is honestly unlike anything I had ever seen in movie or television before watching Pushing Daisies. It is magical and ridiculously whimsical. There is literally nothing to not like about this show, and if you don't like it, I'm pretty sure that means you have no soul.

I'd have to go with Jekyll - one of what I feel is the most under-appreciated shows since... well.... something that was under-appreciated.
It's interesting because it transfers the tale of "The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde" to a modern-day setting, following enough of the source material to keep both the layman and the literist placated. The acting... well, aside from James Nesbitt, the acting is really sub-par. The adults are all relatively good, but the kids aren't that great. But because the show focuses so much on Nesbitt anyway, there's really not too much to complain about. The dialogue is great, especially concerning Hyde, or Jackman talking with Hyde. The six episodes have a relatively simple thread, which binds them all together - but the story, though still easy to follow, gets less and less coherent - expecting a few leaps of faith which lead to a terrible series conclusion. Really, the only reason to watch the six episodes in the series is because of Nesbitt as both Jackman and Hyde. Last edited by Seil; 12-20-2009 at 05:14 PM. |

I really liked the detectives. I'm currently watching Dexter's second season, and I have to agree that it's awesome. I think all of the cast of characters has come alive with the new plotlines.

This is why I watch Supernatural.
Also, I've been meaning to watch Chuck but I thought it got canceled after one season. Am I mistaken?

I myself didn't really get into the first season, and only part of the second season was watched by me. I dunno, it's funny and all but something about the time slot kind of ended up with me not watching it. I think its main death knell for me was when I quit watching Heroes and I sort of felt like just going to bed rather than stay up to watch Chuck which had never really caught on with me.

Favorite thing about Pushing Daisies - Detective Emerson. Without McBride's hilarious dry stone-faced wit half of his lines just wouldn't work. "Promise you won't laugh?" "No."
