It was more they couldn't afford to do anything because it would create a panic in the sharemarket which would make the situation worse.

I just looked at my portfolio from updown and saw that not only did my portfolio survive the crisis, but I profited from it! Thats right, 7.8% return for the two years! (most of us started doing this almost 2 years ago...damn!)
