So you really had absolutely no reason to grind Selphie. If she was level 5 and everyone else was level 100, that means the monsters you're fighting would be level 35. So, yes, they'd be much stronger than her, but you'd have two characters at three times their level. Except on the island closest to hell. Just sayin'. As for my own favorite feature? Punching reporters in the face. It really needs to be in more games. Well, really just punching anyone in the face during dialogue/story moments. Or shooting them. Or whatever else. Having a character who isn't goddamn retarded in cutscenes because you get to choose what they do is just really nice.

CJ, don't tell me you don't know of the Inverse Armour Law!! Simply put; the less it covers, the stronger and more valuable it is.
/Sarcasm. On topic; Favourite RPG mechanic? Gota be limit breaks/overdrives/mist attacks. The idea of just saying, "fuck it!" and pulling out some ultra powerful move that looks awesome and kills or severely injures everything is very cool. Favourites include; Aurons shooting star (ejects enemies from battle. Try it on a giant worm on Bikanel), Zanmato (kills everything, no matter what), Oblivion (can you say 1.5 million damage?) and Baschs 2nd level mist charge (can't remember the name). The description for it says he punches the space-time continuum.

The Defense stat in RPGs work differently for men and women. Here's how:
Men: Their defense is based on armor. They hope their armor is enough to take the hits. Women: Their defense is based on charm. They hope they fight enemies who, if not of the opposite gender, will go lesbian for them. This is all so that their attacks don't ever hit. Quote:

My favorite feature has to be the double/triple tech system in Chrono Trigger.
I refuse to mention the system in Chrono Cross because as far as I am concerned, if I can play the whole game without seeing a single double/triple tech from my characters, its not really a system at all.

The Judgement Ring system in Shadow Hearts. It's a lovely twist to the RPG battle system and just one of the reasons why the series rocks.

My favorite feature of RPGs is one that lots of people overlook, the inventory screen. Sure, nowadays the other genres are closing in on that too in their quest to make the universally likable game, but even titles as recent as Halo make me glad I've got that moment in Morrowind when I bring up the inventory screen to sit back and think about what I'm going to kill that alien/thing with.

I always liked the ability to have an upgradable inventory system.

I have to go with character customization as well. A couple years back I remember getting Final Fantasy I & II and Final Fantasy IV for the GBA, and I actually had more fun with II than IV just because you could control what skills and stats your characters gained in II as opposed to the totally linear growth in IV.
