Mick Foley was awesome after just 1 and 2. I didn't even WATCH wrestling and I knew Mankind was a crazy mofo. Also, it takes a special kind of awesome to enter a free-for-all match FOUR TIMES. He didn't win, but the winners of that particular match type are pretty much always one of the last ones in the ring, and IIRC, there's 20 entries per match, so he comprised a total of 1/5 of the entries on his own. That's sheer badassery.

That's a very heartening story. It's great to know that some young people aren't talking out of their ass.
I remember having a similar issue in kindergarten, but my teacher didn't make a fuss about me not saying the pledge. That was back when they still had the whole "God" blurb in the pledge and I was a very young atheist. |

Now we just need to stop the French singing "La Marsielle" and the world will be peace and love!

The teacher should have just tased the kid.
In all seriousness I love how he proves that for all his logic and reasoning he is still ten years old by telling his teacher to jump off a bridge. Not really sure what the big story is here though other than a feel good story. Seems like the school district is pretty okay with him not standing. |

Goddammit, I refused to say the pledge back in Elementary school too! Where was my national coverage and shit?!
Admittedly my refusal was more because I considered myself British and didn't fucking feel like it at the time. So maybe that was it.

Legally they can't make a fuss about you not saying it so it's not surprising you were left alone. In this case the student just should've explained why they weren't saying it rather than telling the teacher to "jump off a bridge", which was amusing but basically undermining the teacher's authority. Not really defending the teacher though since she was probably making more of a deal out of it than she should, as I as a teacher would be quite more willing to just go "fine, sit quietly, we'll talk about it later" rather than disrupting class. EDIT: Yeah, I went back and re-read that part, apparently she never discussed with him why he wasn't saying the pledge so I'd say that the fault is entirely her own.

Obviously this 10 year old was trying to start a violent insurrection against school authorities, most probably to be followed by several school shootings and gang wars. Thus, the teacher's use of a taser was entirely called for.
