The werewolves were true to canon, and Dracula was an eternally youthful Transylvanian with beautiful brides and an aversion to sunlight. Yes, it wasn't the greatest movie of its time, but at least Dracula never glittered.
Also, sounds like you went in expecting a video game movie about a white haired protagonist brandishing a flaming whip rather than a summer blockbuster made up from a 19th century story cobbled together from a mish-mash of myths, legends and stories staring Wolverine von Metalclaws and the guy from 300. |

It also had a sunlight bomb and a switchblade cross. But the music is great.
Also, theology seems a popular theme nowadays, what with Legion and all. Last edited by Seil; 01-03-2010 at 06:48 AM. |

All crossbows aside, I'm tentatively looking forward to Daybreakers. Any time they mix mytholgy with SCIENCE!, it'll either be terrible or rentable.

Granted I never saw the movie, as I'm not big on popcorn flicks, so maybe it was considerably more ridiculous than the ancient Chinese having chain driven repeating crossbows or the ancient Greeks having a ballista which fired automatically every 1.4 seconds until it ran out of ammo so long as someone turned a crank. I wouldn't know. Kinda doubt it, though.

The case was underneath and it looked like a tommy gun drum, It also looked like it weighed as much as fat child.

I'm kinda looking forward to the Wolfman movie that's gonna come out here in a bit. I hope it will be a nice change of pace.

Eugh. Werewolves are my favourite mythological beast, and most movies can't do a good transformation scene. Skinwalkers and Blood And Chocolate particularly had this problem.
