Man, thanks Sakae. Now I have a mental image of Optimus spinning a top singing the dreidel song...and I can't stop laughing...

Jewish or not. Transformers (the original) is by far the best american produced cartoon. Hands down.

How is Optimus Prime Jewish?
Invictus is a thief? All right, I'll change it...

Anyway, it's actually a reference to Family Guy. Peter Griffin's standing in a Jewish Temple, looking at all these celebrities who are jewish, then all of a sudden, a red semi squeals through the door and transforms to OP. And pulls a yamakah out of his chest plate. Trust me, it's a hilarious moment.

Futurama has to be the best American cartoon made. The comedy is priceless, the characters are people who you would give a damn about, and dispite the fact that the writers will insert some jokes that don't make much sense in terms of continuity (Spit-takes from out of nowhere), they won't resort to cheap jokes like I've seen in other comedy shows.

Plus, if you prefer to look at it this way, Fry has a LOT in common with Fighter.

Transformers was Japanese I thought. At least the first season...

I don't know what mine would be. Garfield...Simpsons...Rocko's Modern Life...

Or then there's Freakazoid! I don't know, but Freakazoid hit it on the nail for me, mixing jokes about everything from Super Heroes to American pop culture (Poking fun at Disney more than one) and having some of my favorite voice actors in it (and famous voices like Khans voice from Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan and Tim ::mumble...:: from Rocky Horror Picture Show). Or maybe its because I recognized all the references and could laugh at them. But at the same time Dexters Lab did the same thing.....also adding in references to Anime (which I'm a big buff on) and half the stuff Freakazoid did, but adding in its own clever story (until it was killed by Gennedy leaving its development).

But I think I might have to say the Simpsons just because of what it is...a show that rivals any show ever made, from any country, live action or animated for comedic value, attention and amount of people who have watched it.

But finall,y if you're gonna ask me what I think is the best ANIMATED thing done (not cartoon ) done in my opinion, it would be the Batman/Superman Adventures. But then it was a combonation of a half American/half Japanese staff who worked on the show with some of the best comic and short Novel writers of the late 90's all on one project.

And speaking of which...I've been looking to buy the episodes from that series on DVD. Has anyone run onto them...?
