It's not even a good method if fighting spam, though it works well as an anti-forgery device. What's really nice is that these things break email forwarding, and various mailing lists. Good thing Microsoft is forcing yet another of their "standards" that doesn't work well with everyone else. For more innovation, see every version of IE, MS Office, hell, just about everything they put out. If you use hotmail and would like to switch to something else, Yahoo! has free email services and Gmail users have tons of invites. I think I still have 50 invites. |

Zwei, I found that first part to be slightly rude. Just because I didn't explain the specifics didn't mean that the overall post wasn't correct. In fact, the first post in the thread explains that it's because of the Sender ID issue that this whole debate arose in the first place.

Hm, sounds like we'll be getting a lot of angry customers calling in demanding to know why they can't send emails to their friends.
*works for MSN and is saddened by that fact* >_< But yeah, this isn't a good idea on Microsoft's part. It's more than likely that there will be a shift in usage over to Yahoo and Gmail. Or at least a lot less people using MSN Messenger with a hotmail and/or MSN email address. Which reminds me, those that have MSN email addresses will also be affected by this, as the emails are run through the Hotmail servers. Joy. ><

I was actually considering working for Microsoft as a basic data typist, as they've been advertising for a certain section for a long time. But I'm not so sure I want to now. It just feels a little hypocritical to be annoyed at their services and then 9-5 at their offices. Heh.

How much does a job like that pay? I'm still in high school and have no idea what I want for a career later in life, and I was thinking about a programmer of some sort, but I don't know, I've also thought about engineer, doctor, lab chemist, etc., and I have too much of a gnat-like attention span to focus on anything.
