I meant the one for NES. I never really played it to the point of getting good at it. Most of the times I played it it would end with me beating my head against very hard things.

sounds like a virtual safety net. i actually got to the end of the 2nd level on ghosts and goblins(the nes one). the two big knights discouraged me into just quitting though

They are extremely similar games, of that there's no doubt. Though if I remember right the Genesis Ghouls and Ghosts still only had 2 hits, and was very difficult. But as for the two games being so close... did you happen to notice who made Ghost & Goblins and Ghouls & Ghosts?
