If they can get Bill Pullman and Rick Moranis involved, then I'll begin to be interested. Somehow, though, I can't see them ponying up the dough.

But... Barf without John Candy? ...No thank you.

I do like the animation style in that little picture though.

No, see, the whole point of Spaceballs was it's humor, where each joke had ties to Star Wars mockery.

There's a big difference between a joke that's funny and mirrors Star Wars, and a joke that's meant to mirror Star Wars. That was why Spaceballs was so awesome.

Spaceball had parody, yes, but only in the vague sense. It took on elements of sci-fi stuff, but nothing entirely verbatium. What I'm worried about, is scene-for-scene parodies. Basically taking other movies, and just interchanging the Spaceballs cast for a re-do.

That's the kinda of parody I'm afraid of.

To be honest I don't really watch G4 these days.

It goes against my principles.

Any channel that becomes ashamed of their own fan base and tries to turn itself into a fucking MTV spin off dosen't deserve my time.

Also, I was never really a Space Balls type.

That could potentially plague the series, as well as the idea someone else mentioned about the original Spaceballs being complete enough that new content, or even updating the show would hurt the original. However, the computer age has brought along some good objects for lampooning. Hell, I could give you several that if they were choosing to integrate more modern aspects into it, they could easily drive home, like the Blue Screen of Death, L337 speak, etc.

Uh, what are you talking about exactly? I mean, sure they've added a bit more to their schedule that might not exactly fit in with what you expect, and maybe cut a bit down in redundency (there was this other game review show that I no longer see, but between AOTS, X-Play, Cheat & Cinematech, it doesn't seem like a huge crime to cut down the videogames just a bit).

And Space Balls seems to be something specifically catered to the fan base, & its semi-original (not in concept, but at least in content). If you haven't noticed, most of G4's content has been host-based up to now, I think its a bit of an improvement to have something that isn't a re-run.
