I have dial up. At the moment my computer's internet is running at 26,400 bps. And I had no problem with sites that did those little tidbits.

The real problem with this is that you are operating on the assumption that people are not jackasses.

Lemme sum it up for you: People are jackasses. They'll whore and whore and whore and whore gold/experience/whatever right up the ass until it is bleeding and writhing on the ground. Really, this sounds like a rep system from post counts. I mean, we had rep-spam before. We'd get post-spam with this.

It's a good concept in a perfect world, but alas, people are jackasses.

I'm not trying to bash the new guy, not at all. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders and are much less of a jackass than a normal internet dweller. I'm just afraid your idea wouldn't work. =/

But, that aside, any kind of little reward system just tends to go astray in big forums, and this place gets a LOT of new members, generally. Too many people would just go crazy with it.

It's moderator approved, forum recognized REWARD. That's just how it tends to happen. It's why Rep was disabled. Also, for a post count? We've had so much hassle and a LOT of push for the fact that Post count is entirely insignificant, basing a reward system with it would be hypocritical.

But, you know, I'll just kind of leave it here. All I'm pushing through it my opinion on the matter. Let an Admin handle it orsomething.
