The other not-so-great Kenobi

The need to visualize my thoughts on paper is what drives me to draw. Sheer boredom however drives my doodling.

This is probably sick, but generally negative emotions inspire me. Loss, defeat and dissapointment generally give me all sorts of ideas. Postive emotions tend to have the opposite effect, chances are if I just had a great meal, danced all night in a club that played great music and got laid I'm going to be completely useless in the inspirational thought dpeartment for quite some time.
But inspiration isn't always necessary to create something great, all it does is make us feel as if our decisions and instincts are "right". When you look at things objectively, even on your most uninspired day you're still just as talented as those times when everything seems to "click". Inspiration is an illusion, the true test of talent is to just schlog through the dry times and still come out with something grand. |
