A Guardian Angel

Actually, now that I think about it... a REALLY good ending to the story would be if, for some reason, the orbs are destroyed or somehow loose their power, and 4 crystals are created and infused with the powers of existence to replace them, but as a result the world is more or less torn apart.
BOOM instant FF2-5. Crystals, ever-changing landscape... PRAY it doesn't go into the plot of FF2... otherwise brian might be tempted to include the FF2 stat building system, which unfortunately would inevitably make both fighter and red mage exceptionally intelligent, considering that they constantly try (more or less) to use what little brain power they have. Also, Red Mage might accidently discover Ice 10 under the ff2 spell progression system... and do ANY of us really want Black Mage to discover Hadokens 2 through 11?

: D : D "Muffin's a DRAGON?" Black Mage's reaction made the whole thing simply priceless.

Muffin seemed to be a very friendly dragon first. Which of course is a great way to avoid suspicions I guess.
Poor Dragoon. He seems so disappointed over the fact that his little pet is an evil dragon. (Is it Tuesday yet?) =) |

I also figured it'd eventually end because Brian might age...
heheh, I'm enjoying Red Mages stance lately, looking around and realizing things that have been happening since this began, it's seemed like none of the others have been bothering to notice this before, even when people have told them so, like remember when Thief's father was saying "coincidences stop being coincidences" :p.

Of not, but Brian did call attention to the fact that RM was able to mime Dragoon, and typically we haven't seen all 5 of them in the same frame since they entered the tower. (BM kept getting squashed whenever Dragoon was on-screen, RM getting booted off-screen, and Fighter's inexplicable absence.) There could be a shot of all 5 of them, but for the moment I'm too lazy to check. So I'll stick with the flawed opinion that there might be some meaning to that. (Either that, or Brian's figured out that 5 characters in one frame cuts down on the amount of frames he can fit into a comic, and thus tends to avoid it. But that would be too logical.) Quote:

Well, I don't think we have any good reason to think the comic is going to end very soon.
See, "The heroes will take action to save the world on the end / The heroes are taking action to save the world now / This is the end" is invalid, as we may very well have the heroes taking action to save the world on the end and also now! Thus this argument per se is not much. Judging by the plot, I wouldn't say the end is now, since they don't even have the orbs and the battle is against the evil dragons and not something like Chaos (which they were supposed to fight since the beginning). There is still much that can happen. You know, Brian just likes making many parallel stories. Last edited by Esoto; 11-10-2007 at 08:12 AM. |

I'd say the comic is coming to a close. Maybe Brian will end it at #1000. Kinda like how Red vs. Blue ended on its 100th episode.

... there's no question about this, you know, Brian said in a Connecticon interview the comic had (at the point) covered about 80-85% of the game and would end when the game's story was complete. That's pretty straightforward.

Nothing gold can stay. :J
Frankly, I doubt Brian would live long enough to pull it all the way through the 3D era, much less have the time. Some of the games are VERY long-winded. I mean, FF1 has been running for how long? 918 comics / 3 comics a week = 306 weeks / 52 weeks a year = almost 6 years. (6 * 52 = 312).

That's a nice calculation, blue.
Of course, all you would have had to do is look at the date of the first comic. http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=010302 In the url, all the comics have the days set, and if you actually click on the link, it reads Friday March 2nd, 2001 in the upper right hand corner. So, more than six years, actually. |
