Sol is the lamest character if anything. Hell, even friggin Potemkin has more personality. I'd like to see Baiken in the next one myself. I think she was young enough in GGXX that being in this incarnation won't be too much of a big deal. Unfortunately, Sol will probably be in this series, possibly as a secret character, as I think he's got an insanely high lifespan and is pretty much the Ryu of the series.

Laguna's sword appears to have some form of revolver on it.

I'd say it's more of a shotgun, but yeah.

I hope they don't reveal Dizzy's father to be Sol, when it obviously should be Testament. (Dizzy is a half-gear, and Testament used to be human where Sol had been a gear for ages, and Dizzy's confirmed mother, Justice, is full gear. So for half-gear Dizzy to have two full gear parents...)

so we have some more info on the characters from Dustloop.
The God of Death Bearing his Fangs at the Control System Ragna the Bloodedge (CV: Tomokazu Sugita) The almighty force managing the "Operation", in order to obtain absolute power over the world, is this man who has rebelled against the "Earth and Space Information Control System" (hereafter referred to as the "Control System"). Known as the "God of Death", a bounty for his elimination has been placed in all the regions populated with branches of the Control System. In game, his tactics revolve around using his power and large sword to keep pressure on his opponents. As for his special abilities, he is able to absorb his opponent's physical strength by using "Soul Eater". The Champion Overflowing with Talent Jin Kisaragi (CV: Kakihara Tetsuya, aka Simon The Driller) From a prestigous family, this man is a retainer of the Control System's Kisaragi house. His class is Major. In the past, he had a distinguished military record during the "Ikaruga Civil War" that broke out, and was promoted to the position of Division Commander at an exceptionally young age. He is always cool and calm, though he is a deeply jealous, ambitious, and possessive person, with little care for others. In game, he uses various swordplay techniques in addition to his unique ability, "Reikou (Zero Sword)" which can be used to freeze his opponents (Frostbite). Trickster Noel Vermillion (CV: Kondou Kanako) Because of her outstanding combat ability and suitable operation evaluations, she was selected to be Jin Kisaragi's direct subordinate in her youth. The two were acquaintances in officer's academy, though Noel thought Jin was extremely weak. However, on a certain mission handed down from the Control System, her preconceptions were changed. In game, she is able to quickly unleash tricky attacks with her two guns, which can be continually added to. Oh, and it doesn't take place about 10 years after GG apparently. That was just a mistranslation. |

Sad. Oh well. Still interested to see if this game will be as good as GG though.

If you're serious, then you just don't understand what makes Guilty Gear awesome in the first place.
Faust is brilliant. He's the best character concept-wise. And Baiken has vastly evolved from a Kenshin clone (I'll give you that being a Kenshin clone is lame, though, but I hate Kenshin because of Samurai X's suckiness so...) and now has the role of the mindlessly vengeful badass woman. She's also one of the more balanced fighters in the game... something that Sol is anything but. Also, if you're going to make fun of Johnny, you should point out the fact that he has a harem of ten year old girls as his 'pirate crew'. But yeah, Sol is basically Ryu who stole his clothes from the Gap and wears a Naruto headband that he scratched the word "FREE" on it. Oh, and he has this angsty 'I caused the gears to happen now I'm the only one who can stop them' thing going on. Lame.

Sol is grizzled manliness who kicks everyone's ass, like he damn well should.
