At least disfiguring facial scars add character. Balls, got to wait for this to heal now before i can shave agin.

I use a normal, disposable razor. A bunch of times.

Electric shaver.
Although, mine is a cheap piece of junk I really only bought because I figured I might need one on my journeys. So... for lack of anything else around the house, I've used a hair trimmer last time I shaved. Battery dies too soon on the shaver.

I used a Gilette Fusion razor. but really, it's of no use now that I've let it grown out too much, the hair just clogs the gazzilion razor blades up instantly. I'd like to use a straight-razor, cause I'd be more able to follow the growth-pattern of my beard, which is sort of like a fractal pattern, and not at all like the guys in the commercials.
Seriously though, are beards supposed to grow symmetrically? (all strands growing towards the jawline?) |

As i understand it: no.
Also, if you beard's too long, think about trimming it with clippers or scissors before shaving. Another also: Be careful with the straight razor, if you get it. the left bit of my jawline's slightly tattered ATM, due to a little overconfidence last night.

I think straight razors are those things I would only be comfortable around if they were held by genial old Italian barbers.
Anyways, since growing my beard I've been pleased enough with my trimmer. I much prefer a weekly-ish trimming to daily shaving.

I'd rather do it myself. Understandably, i'd rather wave a sharp blade about my face myself, no matter how bloody i get, than let anyone else do it.

Not even scissors? Of any kind? Even a straight razor struggles with thick, dense hair.
