So, I ended up deciding to draw a comic myself. Different plot, but didn't feel the need to start a new thread. Working on a rough sketch of the first page right now, will hopefully have a page up tomorrow. Don't expect good art. You can feel free to criticize it, but I already know it will suck, so I'm trying to keep it relatively simple.

Essentially the comic will be a parody of JRPGs, making use of the Grand List of Console RPG Cliches. The MC won't talk, will wield a sword, and will only have a first name. The villain will talk too much, wield a sword, and will only have a last name. It's my first time doing a comic, so keep that in mind, though I will be the first one to admit it will probably have a rocky start.

Comics tend to have rocky starts.

If you would, maybe just pitch a few comics to someone and see how well they work? It helps out a lot more than you'd think.

My shot at comics - RID - was fun and it wasn't awful, but let me tell you there were lots of scripts tossed out because I had my friend look them over and I could just feel the "Um, no" vibes. Comics are very, very different from prose.

Still interested in seeing it, though.

I decided to wait till I have three done before I posted them. Also, I'm not sure my characters have enough zippers yet. The MC has one zipper and two belts...

That and I'm having trouble coming up with a punchline for the first page. I wanted to have the first comic based on the first rule, but I might ditch that idea for now...

Nah, even I don't wanna take it that far. The only character with the belt-zipper thing so far is the MC, who looks conspicuously like Cloud. Well, I mean, if Cloud was poorly drawn.
