Fortune Zero has a spectacular disco-style aura about.

This game still looks like an Esurance commercial to me.

Doesn't mean I won't play it, I just keep expecting to quote, buy, and print in addition to running, jumping and parkouring.

You have to put in a 40-digit CD key using the console's built-in text system (whatever that happens to be), and afterward the disk may not be used in any other console. The CD key must also be re-entered whenever you plug it in, and it must go online at least twice a week to verify.

Also, the CD's edges are razor-sharp, just in case. They're punishing the buyer who will obviously pirate the game.

(Isn't Mirror's Edge on PC as well?)
Every console has a DRM scheme built into its OS that's shared across every game published for the console. It's as much to keep developers from publishing without a (paid) licence than it is to stop customers from sharing purchased games, but it's there.

...not a console I have.

Still, maybe the riot over Spore will at least get them to not use overly absurd DRM from now on.
