I figured more 8-bit readers would pay a trivial amount for a physical product of new content from an author whose work they enjoyed. Individual issue sales for Atomic Robo are high for a book of its position in the print market, but not so high to require significant sales from 8BT-readers to explain them. Even if we assume most of those sales are from 8-bit readers, and realistically they aren’t, that inflated number would still only represent less than one percent of the 8BT-reading audience. Then again, someone’s buying the trade like crazy, maybe it’s them?

FWIW I have to figure you were discounting the nontrivial effort required to actually go pay someone money for one of the things. I'm probably one of the small percentage of 8-bit fans who 1. has a store reasonably near them, and 2. knows where it is, and my experience of trying to get the book was something like "Hello there Comics Store Proprietor, I would like to pre-order Atomic Robo, Previews #_______!" "Fuck you."

That leaves you with what, online ordering? Which I mean, it's not hard to see where trades would do a lot better in that area; the 22-page format seems really geared towards a "Pay money for comic --> have in hands right now" sort of arrangement.

Yeah. The comic book store near me has a guy that makes "Fuck you" a casual hey. they lose over 50% of the people that walk in there Because of the clerk! Thing is People come back Just to Hear to him rat on people. Seriously!
Because of him (and because my mom is layed off and all my money goes to gas and Grosheries )I Don't pre-order comics...
