The images I can see, but with videos it would seem if they're not ha-ha funny they're maybe so interesting as to warrant a thread? Or otherwise, just random links that get dumped here. Or maybe the definition of "funny" can be very very broad. Anyway you guys go on ahead, posting stuff is better than sitting here talking about what stuff should be posted!

I've long since given up hope of explaining to anyone here the line between 'hey that's kinda cool and clever' and 'this is terrible the person who made it is terrible you're a terrible person for showing it to me and I am now a terrible person as a result of having seen it', but I can just about hold out hope of you fellas managing to figure the difference between "joke" and "not a joke."

This really is completely true. I've seen amazing picture threads elsewhere and usually they have some sort of theme that goes beyond "see a funny picture on the internet and pass it on."

Honestly at this point I'm considering whether the easiest solution all 'round wouldn't just be expanding the threads to "things that are good and don't suck" and appointing myself sucks/doesn't suck monitor and people who prove continually incapable of not getting that distinction being sort of quietly asked to not post in them. And by "quietly" I mean "the way I usually ask things".

Hell's bells I might even have reconsidered being a hardass about the funny/not funny distinction if anyone had opened either of the two new threads with anything decently clever or amusing like guy in a crazy mask actually playing a violin or two dudes doing a reasonably well-produced lightsaber duel instead of 1. some boring retard talking to himself over the intro to Half Life, 2. Random song plastered over random scenes from an anime #987,000,000 which was even already posted in the now-closed previous thread, and 3.
