So is the Veil like Death's waiting room? It sounds like the afterlife, since it's where dead people go. Apparently there is something after it, since Jacque is afraid of the after, but he should be familiar with the Veil.
Even though Rapter kinda did it, I'm thinking Viking dying by drowning or choking, and reaping till he dies in battle like he's supposed too. Would be keeping himself up to date as opposed to always being in Viking age. Since it may be from an earlier time than you wanted, posting this before bothering to make a sheet. Alternatively, a high schooler who just died, and just didn't want to 'die' yet before he turned 21, had sex, gets to see how Lost ends, or some other short term (teenager) goal. Would not have any combat training unless you'd prefer otherwise, were he'd know how to shoot. If yes to the below question, he'd be the up to date/modern guy. Do agents interact with the living world?

Vikinings were like 800 A.D. or thereabouts. That's not that bad.

There I go, being the only non-GM created female character again. I pretty much have it figured out that everybody else is going "Nah, we can create a male. Ol' Armored'll bring the estrogen" or something.
Oh well. Someone's gotta stop the RP from being called Afterlife Sausage Fest Adventures. |

Though I do admit, I have made a couple... or a few female characters in the past. I admit they weren't great. |

Okay rapter, that looks better. IHMN: The Veil is sort of the transition between life and full-on afterlife. Basically, when you die, your spirit/soul/whatever enters the Veil is and gathered by a reaper, and herded off to the proper afterlife, whatever that may be. I’m not going in-depth on the whole afterlife business because that doesn’t really affect what’s going to be going on in the game. Agents can interact with the living world, but are generally too busy to really “live life” as an agent. If agents had enough time to be screwing around, he wouldn’t recruit anymore. He’s a bit of a task master. Most of the time when an Agent is seen by a mortal, they’re usually mistaken for a ghost or some such thing, as they are popping through shadows, in and out of the Veil, hunting down whatever it is that they are hunting down. Of course, when people say that they’ve seen a loved one who has died in a crowd, or that they came to them in their sleep or something like that has a high probability of being an Agent. After all, they may be dead, but Agents are still people (kinda). Hawk: Okey dokey.

Name: Richard Lendandi
Gender: M Birth date / Death date: Jan. 15, 1820-Oct 25, 1854. Appearance: He is a upright military-looking figure. His gray jacket is... rather 1800's royal army-styled, but slightly more modern. It doesn't have any sashes on it, for example. He has a wiskery mustache that he has had since he died, and a shaved head. Background: Lendandi was drafted into the royal army when he was 17. He had a rather short and uneventful career, until he finally finagled himself a position in the cavalry. This was a good post in the 13th light dragoons, and he soon married. However, while expecting his first son, he was called to action. Unfortunately for him, his unit was one of those that engaged in the famed Charge of the Light Brigade. There, dieing, trampled and broken, he was approached by a forgetable figure, whom he STILL can't remember the destription of... Terms of the Deal: The figure made him an offer. And given his current situation, he daren't refuse it. He was offered the safety, prosperity, and long life of his wife and unborn son, in return for service until the twice the length of the life of his son, plus a year and a day. Unable to provide anything else to his family, he accepted, though he was forbidden from seeing or going near them upon the mortal plane, or veil, again. His wife got became a maid, and soon had a stroke of luck. She ended up marrying the Lord of Scarborough, and the child was brought up well, and educated, though not in line for the nobility. His son lived to be 97 years, 4 months, 12 days, 15 hours, 13 minutes, and 47 seconds old. Though he never saw his son again, he has seen some of his grandkids, after they moved away. His term came out to 195 years, 9 months, 26 days, 6 hours, 27 minutes, and 34 seconds. Of that, he has 40 years, 6 months, 22 days, 17 hours, 34 minutes, and 13 seconds left, at the start of this campaign. He does indeed count every second leading up to his release. Weapons of Choice/Talents: His main abilities and talents are those learned in the military. Basic survival ability, the ability to ride horses, and some tactical knowledge. Unlike his previous commanders, the long years of his counting and watching have given him a good sense of timing. His weapons of choice are Saber and pistol, which he used while in the dragoons. Though he has slowly upgraded his pistol through the years, he hates automatic weapons and Uzis, because he feels they have... less control than he would like. If that's alright... LOL, I'm shocked. Most of these characters are military mid-late 1900's. I'm surprised no one has done a spartan soldier, atlantian warrior, or... a native american type guy. Maybe an Eskimo XD

I edited my character, and changed his backstory and deal.
The reason I added the nickname to Maxwell was because the character seemed kind of boring to me, so I wanted to give a somewhat humorous element to surround him. Edit: Toasty, your new avatar scares me. Last edited by Bard The 5th LW; 01-07-2010 at 02:21 PM. |
