That's what I had planned since the middle of mission 1, anyway. Could've sworn I'd mentioned it as well. Ah well. And in the matter of Togekiss, I'm guessing the monokes attacks are fairly powerful and besides, they'd already life-drained togekiss for decreased stats. Maybe it could have taken one more attack, but what happened seems about right. And Drac, I'm guessing AB either missed your use of a full restore, or didn't let it count, because you used a restore and attacked in the same turn. Usually, when you're healing, you lose a turn, don't you? |

Convincing Matthias to fight in a tourney for any reason would be difficult. He simply doesn't engage in 1v1 fights on fair terms unless he has no choice.

I dunno about that. I've used healing items before without losing a turn. Anyone can spray a potion on a pokemon and shout orders at the same time. I get Slayers and Pokebrids losing a turn when they heal, because they're the ones taking actions, but not trainers.

Besides, for the trainer to apply the potion, the pokemon in question has to be standing still until it's been administered. That doesn't leave much time for battle in the same turn. |

Stats up! Listing the trainers' pokemons in questions from highest to lowest by using stats from Psypokes which I also trust for pokemon data along with Bulbapedia.
Mind you, this is only for discussion and reading and stuff, and perhaps a bit of tactics. But first, the list of pokemons! Pierces: Tyranitar, Blaziken, Skarmory, Metagross, Kingdra, Starmie Charlotte: Arcanine, Manetric, Houndoom, Mightyena, Aerodactyl Renny: Togekiss, Swampert, Magnezone, Umbreon, Shaymin (Land or Sky). Hitpoints Attack Special Attack Defence Special Defence Speed Total Base Stats So overall: Hitpoints: Renny is a leader with Pierce and Charlotte fighting hard, Pierce having some of the worst in this regards but also some better than Charlotte's consistantly mid-range stamina. Attack: Pierce crushes all opposition, with Charlotte holding her own while hapless Renny only has one or two pokemon that can fight well on this scale. Special Attack: Renny zaps his foes with the DESTRUCTIVE POWER OF LOVE, with Charlotte and Pierce fighting rather evenly, Charlotte with more power in the select few and Pierce having weaker but more consistant supply. Defence: Pierce has undeniable first class defence, while Renny is not far behind with a very solid defence of his own, with poor Charlotte's pokemons watching their fleshy back for the foes that their master's personality creates. Special Defence: Pierce in most given situation has the single pokemon with the most powerful special defence, but the majority of Renny's pokemon follow very closely behind with powerful defence against energy attacks thus making Renny incredibly adept surviving against special attacks, with the rest of Pierce's pokemon trying hard to wedge into the high tier while Charlotte fares no better than she did with Defence. Speed: Charlotte is ruler of this mountain without a doubt, with Pierce in second and Renny trailing behind, with only one or two pokemons worth a blip on this scale. Overall, Pierce is like the Warrior type, Charlotte the speedy rogue and Renny a sort of Priest/Mage character of this RP. :3 I hope you all enjoy this. (No flaming or bragging please.) And if you have any thoughts or concerns about how I "evaluated" the outcome overall, let me know what you think it is. ^^ And yes, I know Pierce had 6 pokemons while Renny and Charlotte only had 5, unless you count Shaymin twice due to her two forms, which she can only be one at a time... and also there is no telling what the 6th pokemon in each trainer's team will be like, or if any of the ones mentioned will be switched out. :3 EDIT: Also, while I did think something like a tournament would be easy to implement, it doesn't have to be that. :3 Plus, it's entirely possible that what could happen is... Impact studies up on his team-mates secret data prior to the match or so. Pierce fights Renny in the tourney first round, Charlotte waiting for her turn but Impact talks to her and draws her away from the area and fights in a more secluded location. If Impact wins or if Charlotte agrees/submits to Impact, everything continues and Impact can decide who to fight next depending on the results/observation of the match-up of the duel between Pierce and Renny. Mind you, it's a bit early to tell, and we might do something else later on or something. Last edited by Menarker; 03-18-2010 at 12:02 PM. |

Sorry, I missed a few things. I'll correct.
Wow, only two posts tonight. Maybe I can take the night off, think of how the arena will work (I'm thinking that Slayers and Pokébrids may work in groups or have additional support), and correct my mistakes from the previous post. And then it's back on Final Fantasy XIII. It's odd, though. I don't really like the story nor do I give a damn about the characters, but the battles are really fun. EDIT: I think that fixes everything. I use the Synopsis so that nobody has to read my full post. As each post generally takes an hour and a half to two hours total, I tend to think of them as rather big, though they don't seem that way when finished. Additionally, I use those to help me keep track of the action. And they could help those forumers who don't post as often catch up without reading the entire thread. Did Chizuru like, run away or something? Nevermind, she was probably the one that weakened the Hariyama that Bronzong downed.

Though, wait, what? Trainers can use items and attack in the same turn, now? What happened to balancing? |

Well, I just overlay the basics stuff like super effective or STAB so AB doesn't have to think as hard over all the math. Makes it easier for him to figure out the overall results. Also a good way to sum up any other actions such as him giving orders to Lola or such.
And I find the ability to use items and attack at the same turn suprising too. A welcome thing given that I'm a trainer too, but suprising. *Wonders if I'll ever find a use for X Accuracy or Dire Hit or any of the stat boosting items.* |

Hey, DanteFalcon, Impact's already hitting Mothim with a 4x effective attack. I think thunder might be better elsewhere. If it hasn't gone down yet, AB can always have Chiruzu follow up on it.
Perhaps hit Skuntank, to soften it up? Edit: Also, in regards to the tournament (if it turns out to be a tournament at all) I'd prefer to have Impact fighting on his own. Shouldn't be too hard to even the playing field, though, depending on the next upgrade we get, I'm guessing it'd be somewhat fair if trainers simply used only 4 pokemon. |
