I personally wouldn't even spoil it, you're doing a great service to your community by pointing it out because seriously, that is a stupid way to end any movie ever created. Ever.

Yeah I remember several books about writing that I read which basically said, "do not ever, ever do this."
It's nice to know people are still morons.

Just got back from seeing it.
Fuck this movie and its ending. The action kept me engaged, but seriously, fuck that ending.

It was pretty great, but some of the songs... were terrible. I mean, Mark It Up is just... ugh.

Most fans ignore songs like Mark It Up and Seventeen.
I don't know where they got the idea of turning Shiloh into a punk-rock singer but it was a serious Big Lipped Alligator Moment.

No, the scene made sense, it was just a bad song. Smacking her was the proper response.
Every musical has a couple.

The Big Lipped Alligator Moment was only because it really, really came out of nowhere. Like I can get the unrealistic moments of people are singing and dancing, that's what musicals are all about. But what threw me was when her bedroom opens up to her own punk band and her clothes change.
I'm pretty sure that Repo never had absurd shit like that happen. Plus it seriously went on forever.

I guess I could appreciate that the entire movie was one great big exercise in audience moral deconstruction. Nothing terribly artful about it, but a sophisticated enough psychological undertone that I didn't totally hate it.
It didn't make you think, but it certainly allowed you the latitude to do so. also, fuck musicals. Honestly. Last edited by Funka Genocide; 03-24-2010 at 04:25 PM. |
