So we are clear

well I haven't personnaly played the x-box version and to be honest I am not touching PS2. So I say Link though Spawn has potential. Though I go more for speed. Heihachi maybe fast but Taki and Talim are faster and have better range and Spawn is just another big hitter with an axe.
In short LINK RULES

actually i find link is the best among them but i mean namco could have gotten ther better characters for the other consoles probably like hmmm could have had a final fantasy character for the ps2 and someone like ninja gaiden for the xbox...

Soul Calibur 2 came out before Ninja Gaiden so that nixes that...and as for a Final Fantasy Character..while that'd be cool..there are liscensing (Can't help but think I mispelled that.) issues with that.

I've got to go with Link... because honestly, who gives a fuck about Heihachi?
I still say the PS2 character should have been Tony Vercetti.

How would He fit into the story line? He's from a more realistic world and hundreds even thousands of years into the future....He'd be all like Gimme your sword so I can pawn it off on the Black market. someone like link would Just cut him, Limb from gruesome Limb.

Either Namco looks like they're putting Hayabusa in 'cause they think the DOA series rocks, or Tecmo looks like they're letting it happen 'cause they think the SC series is pretty slick. Neither company would give the that much credit to the other, it's bad marketing. Link is owned by nintendo, who's console Namco released it on. Win, win. Microsoft, and Namco got McFarlane to do it 'cause it's a cool character when they've none of they're own. Win, win again. Namco getting a character not owned by them or Sony, but by a rival software company like Tecmo, specifically from one of their rival FIGHTING titals. It'd be really great, and the fans would love it, but it can't happen. |

I'm sure, had it not actually happened, there would be plenty of people willing to argue "Nuh-uh, no way would Nintendo agree to put Link in a fighting game, it just wouldn't ever happen." Maybe Tecmo would have decided to be possessive, maybe both companies would have realized that this would allow them to score a huge publicity coup, boosting sales of SCII and also whetting the already powerful public appetite for the forthcoming Ninja Gaiden. "Win, win," so to speak. The original argument was that it wasn't even possible, presumably Death Dealer either a. was not aware or b. had forgotten that Ninja Gaiden existed before the X-box game. As it did exist, such an inclusion would at least have been possible. It was possible, it would have been cool, arguing how likely might have been, had anybody thought of it at the time, seems like an incredible exercise in futility. Quote:
