Fine. Watch Hellsing while eating a barbecue pork sub sandwich.

Though I have yet to start watching it, I've heard good things about Tiger and Bunny, which seems to be about corporate sponsored superheroes. So that's a thing.
I watched the first two eps of Gintama and it seemed pretty okay. No more or less. I've heard that it actually starts weak and gets good, so there's no harm in giving it a shot. I was half-tempted to only recommend things I know you'd watched. Didn't have it in me. I can't really think of other really good fighting anime at the moment, but I'll mention them if I think of any. EDIT: Oh, I'll second Hellsing, but restrict your viewing to the Hellsing Ultimate OVAs.

If you want a ridiculous sandwich that is delicious, take two pieces of toast, butter said toast and put a thin layer of mayo on each piece, then apply a large sum of spaghetti (with sauce of your choice) onto one piece, followed by salt, pepper, parmesan cheese, cheddar cheese, pastrami, ham, and hotsauce. Add bacon if you feel up to cooking it.
Close sandwich. Have the most delicious heart attack of your life.

I can't make good sandwiches.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica is amazing, but I dunno how mindless you want your anime.
Duradura (from the Bacanno! guy) is fucking awesome. If you haven't seen it, go see it. Deadman Wonderland, about a kid who gets shoved into a prison that's like Oz+Disneyland, is pretty entertaining. Eden of the East is not fighty, but is good. If you liked Evangelion way back when, Rebuild is good and a lot better paced for being shoved into 2-and-a-half hours (also a lot prettier). Also, plenty of giant robot-things beating the shit out of monsters. |

It's "Durarara!!", by the way.
For fighty stuff... Soul Eater: kind of your average Shounen fare, about kids who hunt evil people with their sentient soul-eating weapons, so that their weapons can have the honor of becoming the weapons of Death himself. More comedy than that description would suggest, though. Recurring characters include a "ninja" who's worse at stealth than Naruto (and is constantly called on it), and Death's son, who happens to be almost too OCD to function. Fairy Tail: Made by the guy who did Rave Master, art style looks a lot like One Piece. Revolves around the titular wizard's guild. Arc-based, generally involves the highly destructive guild's members taking on requests posted for talented wizards, or various guild squabbles and world-ending evil plots. The main character is a dude whose magic specialty is eating fire, punching with fire, breathing fire, etc. But all the guild members are fleshed out and have varying amounts of importance, which is refreshing. I need to get back to reading it, it's one of my favorites, alongside One Piece. Oh, and another sandwich: Take two slices of whatever bread you want (for this one, I suggest crusty Italian breads or a pair of English muffins.). Slather the insides of the bread with pizza sauce, and sprinkle some basil and oregano on it. Then, top one of the bread slices with mozzarella cheese (shredded or sliced will do), and top the other one with pepperoni or whatever pizza toppings you like. Press the two halves together, put some olive oil on the outside, and grill it up until you toast the outside and melt the cheese. Voila! A pizza sandwich. you could also do it open-face, if you wish. |

I'd say you should watch Rebuild as someone who I'm pretty sure didn't like Eva. I mean, it's very much along the lines of, "Oh man Eva would have been awesome if it was this."

Speaking as someone who's never seen the original Eva, but has seen "You are (not) alone" twice... yeah, it's pretty good. I like how the whole giant robot defense system is treated as something with massive repercussions and extreme energy requirements.
Of course, I adored Gurren Lagann, so I'm good with either interpretation, so long as it's done well. Oh, and the scene where Shinji just walks out, goes wandering for a day, and then says "Alright. You can take me back now." *cue a bunch of MIB revealing themselves to have been following him the whole time* was a really cool scene, I thought. Gotta say though, the whole "awkward Shinji in a hot girl's apartment" segments just feel jarring compared to the rest of it. |
