It's a shame SyFy's Monday anime didn't work out. At least it was different.
We'll see if they actually pull in anything new, or at least new for the network, or keep pumping the same shows over and over as per the norm.

On a related note, The Boondocks is coming back for season 4 soon.
As far as content goes, if theres anybody that knows how to put together a nice anime lineup for us, its Adult Swim. I'm happy to hear they're doing Toonami, and would very much enjoy seeing them do it in their own way rather than trying to maintain the status quo from before. Im crossing my fingers for some new bumps and some fresh anime. Last edited by Pip Boy; 05-17-2012 at 11:55 PM. |

That's a pretty sweet lineup. I've actually been wondering about the Deadman Wonderland anime. I've read some of the manga, and it's pretty good.
The only one I don't know about is Casshern, but he's one of those Tatsunoko guys, right? Actually, I don't know all that much about Ghost In The Shell, but my roommate loves it, and I've seen the second movie. Definitely gonna stay up for this stuff. Tomorrow at midnight. Can't wait. |

Color me not particularly interested? I can watch the entirety of Casshern Sins on Hulu right now. And everything else they've run before except for Deadman Wonderland.
I always treated Adult Swim anime more like a sampler, myself, especially since I enjoy subs more. Like I watched Death Note on there a few times and said "Hey, better find the Japanese version of this, it's pretty good!" and so on and so forth.

Well, new series are always a plus, but the main draw for this is the return of the Toonami branding, which a number of us grew up with before it sort of slowly died off. The hope here is that CN sees a jump in interest when they bring it back, and eventually work towards having it back at the sort of prominence it had in the '90s.
I'm interested by the new stuff, and the old stuff reads like a "CN's favorite anime" list. If they were showing FLCL, that'd be definitive. I don't feel like talking about Sub vs Dub. That's a discussion for another tim. |

They just showed FLCL on Adult Swim recently...
But yeah, gotta start from somewhere.

Well, I thought that was a pretty good broadcast. Of the new stuff, I thought that they adapted Deadman Wonderland quite well (I'm disappointed that the anime only has 12 episodes, though), and that Casshern Sins was a nice dramatic thingamabob, even if the robots said "Casshern" the way zombies say "Brains".

I just gots higher standards, too.
I thought it was... eh. Deadman Wonderland had a... bad choice for the main character's VA, while the white-haired girl's VA wasn't super terrible(when she doesn't sing, her singing reached the protag's level of terribad). The "HOO HOO HOW BIG ARE YOUR BOOBIES?" "G-CUP!" bit was... ugh. After that fucked-up women-hating fake-confession, that particular bit's really given me looooooow expectations for this show.
Casshern Sins, on the other hand, is way more decent! Not, like, super-great or anything, but Liz told me the original Casshern inspired the Megaman series, so now I basically have to watch Kinda-Sorta-Grimdark-Quickman-ala-Megaman-Zero. Also, the Casshern's VA isn't terrible, so that's also a plus. Then I watched an episode of Brotherhood because shit, it's FMA, and kinda lost interest during a rerun of Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig. Basically, at this point, Toonami's just [AS]'s Saturday Night lineup with a new coat of paint(With said coat including a theme song with the term "bitches". Goddammit, Williams Street.). Their budget at this point is tiny, although they say they want to do more if the get the ratings. Casshern's got my interest for sure, though, so I'll weather it out and hope Toonami gets enough ratings to, you know, actually be better. |

I didn't see any tom speeches or Music Videos. I saw a game review though so I'm somewhat happy
