I'm not sure where you are getting "HAHAHA! LOOK AT THEM KILL ALL THOSE HOMOS!" from "Hahaha, wow they thought it was a real news article, how goddamn stupid do you really have to be?"
The logical leaps and bounds, the dancing around reality and completely ignoring any and all context... truly stunning work. EDIT: The point of the article is that people are so completely fucking lost that they would willingly elect a murderer or tyrant just to avoid electing "that there black man and his homosexual supporters" and these people are JOKES THAT SHOULD BE RIDICULED AND LAUGHED AT INSTEAD OF BEING CATERED TO. Yes, It is pretty terrible that people in a country that actually murders gay people got it reported to them as a legitimate thing that we are reporting instead of a joke article that is making fun of their shit government and our shit government/public. Jumping through hoops to somehow pin The Onion with the blame for another group across the world lying about them is just pissing your rage at your own head.

Making it happen.

Just a suggestion, but perhaps you should then point it at nobody? This right here should have told you to sit back and chill the fuck out till you had a better grasp on the situation. The shotgun approach to blaming and shaming won't get you anywhere.

You know, I may not have the best sense of humor, but even I found this a bit funny. It's like Iran is desprate for anything that puts them in a better light then the US it seems or something.

I didn't take the joke as about how Ahmadinejad was killing gay (homosexual) protestors specifically, the joke was the made-up redneck caricature was calling protestors gay (because they are protestors, not because of actual homosexuality), and then applauding Ahmadinejad for oppressively putting down protests with impunity, as opposed to Obama who does not oppressively put down protests with impunity. The point was the ignorance of the redneck caricature representing the average American, not Iran's intolerance of gay people.
Basically it's saying the average rural white American has the mindset of a teenage boy on XBOX Live, hating on the gay hippie commie protestors and loving Ahmadinejad for not putting up with any of that horsecrap like Obummer, who they hate irrationally to the point of liking Ahmadinejad better. Quote:
What I really wonder about the effect of this article is if this fake article was what Ahmadinejad was referring to when he replied to an implication from a reporter that he was unpopular in the West and the United States that he was actually quite popular with the average American, and "if you ask the man on the street here in New York, you may realize quite differently, that U.S. citizens like me", OR if this satirical article was merely a response to him saying that. I don't know the date of when this was posted versus when he said that, but it was around the time of the U.N. General Assembly that he made that statement, so if that article is older maybe that is what gave him the hilarious idea that the average American likes him. Oh, and about how this is making light of something quite serious--that's the essence of satire, I'm afraid. Why do you think when teaching people about satire we most often refer to A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift, a treatise about how the impoverished, starving Irish masses, kept in perpetual near-slavery by English landlords, should solve their hunger issues by eating their own children? It's so when you see a parody like this you aren't as taken aback as you might otherwise be.

The worst part about this discussion is that the legitimate point about the "And noone died when this fictional image that would be offensive to X Other religions" being really shitty has been lost.

We talked about how shitty that one was already in that other topic about its shittiness, though.
