So just to finish up on the last episode of From the New World:
It was...Interesting. It still left a very unclear future but it was nice. I feel it's still kind of lacking closure, though. Also, I can't help but wonder if Satoru's whole chromosome number thing was wrong. Something tells me there's more animals with 44+2 sex chromosomes. Last edited by Ryong; 03-24-2013 at 12:16 AM. |

So Psycho Pass just finished, and I really wish it'd keep going. I want to see something happen where the Sybil System is actually threatened, and Kogami comes back to either save it or bring it down, becoming Makishima in a way (or possibly bringing him back with the excuse of "he purposely missed and let Makishima live out of spite", which I could get behind). Also to see a better spread of development among the side characters (the one dark-haired girl had two separate incidents outside of the irrelevant backstory episode, I don't even remember her name because that's how much neglect for her there was in the writing).
Can anyone recommend a similar anime in the time being? These kinds of non-supernatural justice-type themes, like in Psycho Pass and Death Note, are really entertaining for me (non-supernatural as in "a few odd things that don't drive a dick through the setting repeatedly", as opposed to something like Claymore, Avatar or Dragonball Z). |

It would be nice if Squealer's ambitions brought some more humane treatment of the rat people, but that seems unlikely. What's the point of having an underclass if you can't abuse them and blame them for all your problems?

So I finally watched the last inferno cop episode.
I wasn't expecting a Michael Bay's Transformers reference like that. |

Plus I've watched it in three days, which was slower than I'd have liked. I never marathon stuff, so its ability to make me keep pressing Play is a high mark coming from me. Gonna go finish it now, can't wait.

Just watched Sword Art Online in a Marathon recently, full anime in a single leap.
First season rocks, second season kinda of a waste. Everybody wants the main character's D. EVERYBODY. Also, new Season of Saint Seiya Omega. The backlash from the previous season finally kicked in. They have now reversed most of the new original bullshit and kept the new cool parts. It went from okay to nice. More news at 6... |

I like how the Shingeki no Kyojin uses uneven outlines on the characters to sorta suggest the roughness of the comic's artwork. Plus the Giants were pretty scary, so that's good.
Mike and I paused the video and discussed preferences for robot sizes for ten minutes; this is a mark in Gargantia's favor. Plus, I appreciated how Leto's response to his robot's suggestion "We could just kill them all" was an immediate "No!" followed by reasons. I like that, even though he has lived as the decision making part of a killer robot for his whole life, he still values life enough that you know he'd never hurt anyone (or, at least any humans). Or, like I said in an earlier post, maybe I've taken Urobuchi's bait and Leto's gonna kill everyone. New Saint Seiya is ok. I'm amused by adding in a Steel Saint and Kouga being all, "What the heck is that?" I look forward to seeing how everyone got over Cosmo Cancer and what garbage they're going to pull to have everyone's cloths turn into the old statue forms like Pegasus has. Of the things I've watched so far this season, I'd like to suggest Hataraku Maoh-sama. You have to accept that a demon who tried to take over the world and killed countless people can be a nice guy (or, this is the biggest sticking point I've seen on the interbutts), but once this is accomplished, it's a pretty funny "magic fish out of magic water" story, with silly hand gestures and faces and the day-to-day non-crises of working at McDonalds. First episode of Hayate was also pretty good, even though it was reusing material from the comic. Or maybe because it was remixing material from the comic.
