However, removing it entirely and going to more health and more damage with no armor pen whatsoever, is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Having 13 defense and a 14 pen weapon, I can look at them and go, okay, planets 12-15 are where I should be (and 14/15 I should stay inside at night). With a little more gradation so that high end increases a few levels with skill, the system would have been perfect. Dropping it to just health and damage may, or may not, take care of the problem with planet difficulty ramping up/down too suddenly, and messing up progression, but it will definitely make it more difficult to tell which planet difficulties you're okay going to. Also, dropping enemy gradation from 10 levels per sector to easy/medium/hard is a reduction in content, regardless.

I had to improvise, but at least it's finished before the wipe.
edit- apparently steam's cloud-4 isn't among the allowed image hosters. Guess I'll have to be not lazy and use imgur.

Having just started playing, then finding a prison and getting loaded on weapons:
I have no idea why these goddamn parrots are so good at rock throwing. Also, multiplayer is buggy as fuck, which I guess I should've expected. |

Don't know why this takes a wipe but Tiy said so on his twitter, so.
There's probably another wipe so be prepared for that.
As that steel weapons do about 5000 damage, so there's clearly something messed up in whatever algorithms they used to come up with damage numbers. ---------- Post added at 05:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:28 AM ---------- Update: Apparently hot-fix shouldn't break saves, thus meaning no wipe. Also it's uploading now and should be available soon. Also, which one of you fucks is this. I refuse to believe someone took that name who wasn't from this forum.

strange, my server is running without a hiccup. Sure there's a slight memory leak, but optimizations are coming down the pipe. I got 16gb to abuse sos not too terribly bothered.
Also, old radiators from USMC prisons? goddamn amazing heaters for bases n shit. 2x3 block space with a huge heat radius. Using one on my snow planet base and planning to grab more for expansion. |

So. I was thinking about running a multiplayer server in Starbound... is there any way to do it that don't involve Hamachi?

Open the required port (don't recall it at the moment) and go to starbound's directory then run the starbound_server appropriate for your OS platform. It can be a bit of a memory hog after a while, so either restarting it every so often or having a lot of ram helps.
