Saw it the other day. I might add my critiques of the move (I had a lot) but I will agree with the general points here that Zara's death was excessive and the final battle scene was absolutely hilarious.

Yeah, I agree with pretty much the consensus above but I wanted to add that it was an ok Godzilla movie so at least there's that.

It wasn't as bad as I expected but it was not very good. I felt like it was depending too much on nostalgia for Jurassic Park instead of doing stuff to make us forget that this is the fourth entry in a franchise that was ran into the ground.
Compare this to Terminator: Genisys. Now I'm not saying Terminator Genisys is "good" by an objective measure, the creators of it seemed to be fully aware that they they were trying to bring back a franchise that was not even running on fumes, it was completely stalled in the middle of a vast trackless desert. This is one dead franchise. So they knew they had to pack it was as much needlessly convoluted time travel, inane over-the-top action scenes, and Terminators as possible--and man are there are a lot of terminators in this movie--five different kinds of Terminators! Fighting each other! Arnie's T-800 in three different time periods! Time loops and branching timelines and two time jumps, Skynet spinning plans within plans within plans within plans! They knew they had to try really, really, really extra hard to be noticed. Whereas the creators of Jurassic World were just banking on nostalgia. Well, it failed with me. I didn't like it very much. I'm sure the 1 billion dollar box office will not make them realize this, though.
