Data is Turned On
|
-No incompetent fool characters (Rinoa). If they want to save the world, they better have some skill or ability or tendency that helps. If they have a talent but are just depreciative, I'd like to know it, I mean... if anyone can do it, why are they heros?
-The world map should make sense again! You shouldn't have to wander the map to get experience, and monsters should only be there to make travel interesting. Having no sense of distance and width ruins quests. -non-linearity in any of the many ways possible. If there's a script the story should be interesting. -Could we only be pressed for time and we are? Feeling bad for enjoying the game isn't that good a point. -I really wish equipement would matter again.

My ideas for a Truely New FF
I'm tired of FF Rehashing everything that was in the games in FFVI and Earlier.
My ideas may be better suited for a new MMORPG. I want you to have your own unique character any compatible race or gender you chose to start out with. I want to have your own home village which is large enough that it can be a complete game in it's self full of mini games ways to train and be able to teach you and give you all the ways you need to level up before even starting on the quest. I want there to be no more blanket improvment simple for survival. I want all skills to be learned and earned in one way or another, Sword skills to improve with use, that kind of thing. I'd like it if there were nothing manditory events before beatting the game other than getting badass enough to manage it. I'd love it if the Village incluced training in vehicles and arts to all skills available in the basics of the games and whichever you chose to learn unlock story elements that will make it more fun and challenging. Say they include a way to train Fighting Chocobos I want there to be a chance at a mounted combat like the Calvery charges of the Dark Ages. Gain Skills in Flying Vehicles unlock Dogfighting combat with enemy forces. I want it to be a Medieval setting all the Futuristic stuff with Sci-Fi worlds has kinda turned my stomach lately. I love largely unexplored and unspoilt worlds. I want the game to signal when you are strong enough to be level one in the full game world and survive it's tortures by a calamity in your village that only things online can bring peace to. I want you to start off a kid and have the village NPC's or LAN players grow up getting to know eachother and having routines that are not too perfect but are fun and keep you growing and learning till you are ready for the teenage trials online. But even with the push to the full game I never want it to make it so that you can no longer have fun offline. Well that is about it for now.

I'ld like an action FF game. sorta like Zelda but in the FF style, like you control one person and the 3 party members are CPU (Sounds like ff:cc)
Or mayby it being set in a city/town. and everything happens inside the town. This could open up stealth gameplay (Sneaking into buildings or out of bounds areas) and non-lineraness.

FRONT KICK OF DOOM!
|
Story - NO MORE WHINERS!!! Cloud had to find himself. Tidus complained about "his" story. It just ends up that each of these guys tears me up cuz I can't get behind their lack of depth.
A choice of who you want to be the main sidekick of the hero would be great. I liked Tifa. I was glad when Aeris died. Tifa went with Cloud on the roller coaster. I was happy with that choice. Then in FF9, you have a choice between a rat, a child, and a princess for the main char's "girlfriend..." Gee, tough call. Get back on the right track Squeenix! Fighting - The ATB is okay... Believe me it is. But random battles GOTTA go! My enemies should be right in front and I should have a way to dodge them or something. If I seriously must fight, a way to stun enemies would be GREATLY appreciated! Cross training but no one will be as good at something as the person that originated there. IE a summoner can learn white magic but won't be good like a natural white mage. Now I like my RPGs on the longer side. So that's why a good story to keep me interested and playing is something that really needs to be developed more. I kinda knew I wouldn't necessarily want to play FFX2. It... I can't explain it. I just never imagined a fanservice game such as that actually being something that was good for gaming. |

I think they could do away with angst, and I wish they'd kinda take it back a notch. Things are so modern and new and whatever, that it's losing the RPG feel to me. The fact that there wasn't a linear story in x-2, not one worth speaking of, and giving free reign to every part of the world right off, that completely lost the sense of progression for me. What fun is it when you can access every area all the time and the only difference is how strong the monsters are? Whoopedy do.
I guess I just want another FF7. Cloud was an amnesiac granted, terribly cliché, but at least he wasn't some constant angst-whore.

Might be interesting if they made a FF fighting game. (Erghiz only had a couple)

I don't want a main character. I want to choose my personality from a cast of characters. I want characters to actually MEAN something instead of being simply materia slots. Shadow is my favorite character because he had a great story but he didn't talk about it. You discovered him.
How about a score at least half as good as FF6's? Why is good always good and bad always bad? I want to play as a bad guy for once. Maybe I could do this after I beat the game with the good guys. The geomancers and time mages should actually be useful! These classes had great potential. So do the bards and mediators. I should also have some incentive to steal other than to be rewarded for my effort with a "couldn't steal" or "stole potion x 1." I don't like cut scenes. Get rid of them. Let the story drive itself... assuming there is one.

No "world-in-the-balance" type storylines. Maybe something that's more ethereal than material
