I'd have to say Cid, by far. But if you are good then you could also have a mine in your party to mimic Cid. Mimes are really hard/annoying to use, but if you use them right, it's like having two cids.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work. You can't Mimic the skillset of a special character, kind of like how you can't learn a special character's abilities from a crystal. Mimes are best with Dancers/Bards, Summoners, and people with Draw Out... skills that don't need to be aimed so well.

I've only had FFT since early summer, but I've put a lot of mileage on it between school and seeing what's on TV (60+ hours), and as much as it'd make sense to go to with Cid, not the case. I've got a Lvl. 92 female character (Angela) who has access to all the classes, so whatever class, I'll just stick the Math Skill on it. So far her record for solo fights is 17 to 2. Who cares if Cid's on the other side of the arena? She'll Frog him in the first shot, then either use Meteor/Holy/Flare to smite him. Woo.

Having Ramza [or whatever you named him] with the Ninja's Two swords [and two excaluburs via the Best Fit glitch] coupled with the Bard's Move +3 command makes for a pretty kick-ass fighter too.

Mustadio plain and simple.
Arm Aim = end of fight.
Leg Aim on end boss = easy way to beat game.

Mustadio's Aim skills are great stuff, but I find that he need to be properly supported or he will die. Cheese God Cid, on the other hand...

I know, I know, it's supposed to be Thunder God Cid. But he IS a cheese god.

I was thinking for a while that the Assasins (Celia and Lede, I think) were the best, becuase they're ludacrisly fast and they can instantly kill...but they aren't playable. So, I'll go with T.G. Cid.

I wish there was a way to get the assassains on your team -_-. As for MY best character, I'm going to break trend and give my current best charcter from FFTA, which is Georg, my godly gladiotor. he has two handed, which allows him to do more damage than some enemies have health! And his elemenatal swords abilities rule. He is by far my most useful character.
