Actually, in all seriousness, the shotgun can be incredibly effective against pretty much everybody who's not a Heavy Weapons Guy. People underestimate it, which gives you an edge. They're less likely to deem you a threat when you're using it, especially when you're attacking in a group and the enemy has to choose between multiple targets, so they're more likely to ignore you until it's too late. Same goes for the engie's pistol, the Pyro's flare gun, and the Medic's blutsauger.

Plus, there's nothing like watching as a pyro realizes too late that his airblast does nothing against bullets.

Yep. I think I surprised a few when I sniped them with the flare gun.

I am the worst shotgun user ever in TF2, so while I like going battle engie, I will be rather unneffective with it. Flare gun, though, I was great with it, not so much now. And yeah, dang, Blutsauger is great.

I have a rather unconventional build, since afterburn is effectively useless so I use degreaser, and use shotgun because it is still a great midrange weapon. Finally homewrecker, cause I feel sorry for those engies that are killed then helplessly watch in respawn as their buildings are sapped.

You might want to try the demo first. I did, and it is literally unplayable. I don't mean unplayable in the "oh, it's bad!" sense, I mean unplayable in the "according to the instructions, pushing this button is supposed to make move the dragon, but instead the dragon is just kind of sitting right on the spawn point, randomly breathing fire, and maybe twitches a little in the direction I'm trying to make it move".
